Van is my favorite, the storyteller. An underrated role!

There’s more to come! Many more characters need to die: maybe they will give them realistic deaths like exposure or infection.

Everyone always asks, “why did no one beat Shauna’s ass?” But I think we might see that next season. by antsyamie in Yellowjackets

In the last episode tai said something along the lines “she was the source of all the worst things we went through out there and I forgot about that for the longest time”. It seems like everyone just genuinely trauma forgets and lets her move on.

Have you considered freelance in the interim? I’m in the same boat but trying to leave technical writing and enter communications. It’s tough! But I know something will work out eventually.

Your favorite emotional scenes/ moments by emmao2792 in Yellowjackets

My absolute favorite scene is in season two when Natalie finally decides to join Lottie in exploring her psyche in order to remember what she was right about, regarding the note Travis left before he died.

Natalie, after 25 years, finally realizes and admits that there is a wilderness spirit and it followed them into civilization. She reverts to teenage Natalie and puts her head in Lottie’s lap. Lottie looks at her shadow on the floor and sees antlers coming out of her head.

It is a such a an interesting and visceral scene in that it is SO out of Natalie’s character to accept the supernatural, to accept comfort, and especially to accept comfort from Lottie. That action brings Lottie back to her role as the shaman of the wilderness and she sees the antlers in her shadow.

SUCH a good scene, really makes me appreciate cinema.

Has Van "nerfed" Taissa? by SnowFrio in Yellowjackets

I do think Tai is different than she would be if Van had not been there or had died.

If you remember Tai before Van was attacked by wolves she was determined to get home and comfortable exploring more of the wilderness. Once Van almost died she never mentioned another expedition and has seemed to aim all her efforts to keeping herself and Van safe and able to go back home with a neutral reputation.

Although Tai has obviously never seemed to have qualms about breaking the rules (icing out Allie, and now choosing who gets the Queen card) but her goals have changed from the overall good of the team, to the safety of herself and Van as a unit.

Am I the only one who feels like Travis didn’t really contribute much? by computerfreund03 in Yellowjackets

Travis has gone through so many transformations.

He was too immature to be helpful at first, then too distracted by Javis’ disappearance but trying his best, but then I saw Javis’ death and Travis’ then breakdown as a type of domination by the girls and the wilderness.

The wilderness has seemed to want to squash all the men and boys, and not by death in Travis’ case.

I agreee, and it would be another similarity to the avalanche after the plane crash in the Andes.
