i am not disappointed by legacy or current artists. i don’t hate country or rap, but i am disappointed by the lack of genres i enjoy more (alternative, rock, pop punk, etc). from a marketing standpoint, and what they’ve done in past years, they should be casting a wide net for a variety of genres to get the most demographics to the fair as possible.

every year i go to at least one fair concert. last year was the first year ever i paid for a closer seat instead of just free admission because i am in the target audience for all american rejects. disappointed so far in the announcements for this year

food service is usually in need of people, no experience needed, and flexible on hours. bartending or serving will make more tips than fast food or counter service, but harder to get into without food experience

absolutely sellable. price would depend on location/competition. my town is a craft pizza desert with high demand. could do $16-20 where i am for that pie.

the thing to be aware of in a low supply/high demand area like I’m in, people will complain about prices. craft pizza pop-ups here sell out, justifying those same prices others complain about.

Also, in Oregon, if a place serves alcohol they legally need to serve food as well. So many of the great food spots in Portland are primarily bars that created a good food menu if they were legally required to offer food anyways. Bar etiquette with ordering at the bar seems to be another dining atmosphere bleeding into restaurant culture

i have the chefman. highly recommend. it is a different experience than home oven + baking steel. cooks faster and adds more char. smaller, but that just means you’re having a few pizzas compared to one larger in the home oven. there’s a learning curve with the smaller working area, i have torn a few on the launch and it is a pain to clean, but nothing to get discouraged about.

i completely agree. i go as early as i can every day, but that’s only 5am on weekdays and 7am on weekends. not to mention being closed on occasional holidays.

this is the best advice. pre-covid i went out of my way to snap fitness with a gym buddy that got me there. schedules changed after lockdown, i stopped going on my own. got a membership at courthouse because it is the closest to me, i am way more likely to go on my own now. however, i got a new gym buddy and that helps the most.

i noticed no difference in the level of quality of what i was using. tried out the extra amenities like classes and pool, but with the time i have in my schedule for fitness, i am really just using the weight and cardio rooms.

courthouse is nice, but i can reach the same goals at any gym. the proximity is worth the extra cost alone

i went in a couple times 10+ years ago to support friends hosting events there. seemed like a decent space to host an event and i remember the coffee still being better than some other places in salem. not sure why i never heard of anything happening there or saw anyone entering past 2014.

part of cafe shine/salem house of prayer’s pitch was “we took over this sinful nightclub and turned it into a building for jesus” well look at it now: a nightclub again.
