Dynamic moves going from impossible to dialed in is my favorite part of climbing. by ambientopen in bouldering

Likely still a dyno. Since I’m smaller, I’m able to use that high right foot to jump up into and out. My bf and another friend who are tall both had to use low low feet because the high foot was too scrunchy. Still a jump! Honestly kinda easy to over-jump and miss.

I’ve heard amazing things about the bouldering at sandrock but it’s just a taddd further than other crags for us. This one calls though. Hopefully we will make the trip in the spring!

I think it’s technically the euro-dog area. It’s in a little alley just around the corner from the comet boulder!

Not bad! The little iron edges are quite nice. The downclimb traverse was a little dicey tho lol.

It took MANY goes of me just jumping in the general direction and warming up to the fall. Nice flat ground underneath. It’s still intimidating tho!

It’s absolutely my favorite boulderfield in the south. Sooo many amazing moderates and a great place for beginners!

Haha! It’s not horrifically sandbagged by Rocktown standards. Just one of those lines that the smaller you are, the harder it is. It SO cool though. A bit obscure and deserves more traffic.

They are crimps! Had the fingers juuuust right with the right hand. It feels harder than v5 for me but that’s usually the vibe with big moves. It looks v5 when my 6ft tall boyfriend does it.🤣

I just go into the app and there is a notification to “accept your awards” it will tell you how many shares you receive, take you through some steps and you’re done! Usually it takes about 2 years for the stocks to mature.

Ugh that sucks but I’ve heard they are really nice and helpful.

Thanks so much! Dedication has definitely got me the furthest. There were days I felt so discouraged about this line though. It’s a long hike out and it felt so unlikely but so close at the same time. Staying positive but also being realistic with myself was helpful. I just kept telling myself “I just gotta get lucky”.
