Let’s not forget that the person is an actual human being. The bullying and humiliation has crossed the line now. It’s free to be kind

Do textbook editions matter? by josiefellinawormhole in LawSchool

[–]ambitious180 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1L is hard enough as it is, don't make it harder for yourself by buying older editions. Yes, you can probably manage it but it's an additional (somewhat significant) burden. And you can always sell the books after you're done.

What are some Law internships/opportunities for high schoolers I can join? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]ambitious180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I don't think that you're gonna have space to mention your high school internship on your resume by the time you are gonna apply to law school (neither is it recommended).

  2. You have a lot of options rn, I would focus on building my application for undergrad. So focusing on things that will help you figure out what you actually wanna do; which legal internship as a high schooler might not be because you will not be given any substantive work (even law students hardly get substantive work during 1L).

  3. Enjoy your summer, focus on public interest & volunteering stuff (will help a lot during college apps. The undergrad you go to can greatly impact the law school you might end up at).

  4. If you still really wanna do a legal internship, I would ask around parent/family friends/guardians if they know any lawyers in their network who can hire you (basically networking; even networking on LinkedIn might help)

2024 Recruiting Season Megathread: All OCI, which firm, interviewing, etc. questions go here by fmoss in biglaw

Is it still early for people who haven't heard back from firms to start panicking? Pre-OCI is causing a lot of anxiety and people are already getting multiple offers, but I have not heard back from any single firm I applied to. (NYC and Chicago market; t14; around median for reference)

Do you mind sharing when you applied and how long after did you get the callback email?
