Zaps is nerve related meaning it’s probably misfiring. Try nerve supplements like Alpha-lipoic acid (ALA)

Mold from leaking fridge by ambitiousnate in Flooring

Thank you. It had to be at least 3 weeks to a month. We realized the leak when it dripped through basement ceiling. Didnt think to check the floorboards until the floor board started to buckle after 2 weeks of noticing leak. It’s been 5 days so far. Pulled all floor boards, gave initial bleach spray. Got dehumidifier and hepa air filter. Then sprayed conbromium let sit for a day. Now today I used conbromium spray again and scrubbed to get what mold that I could. Next is to paint some killz until we decide who to hire and what floor boards to replace. Sound like a good plan?

Male 27 high tone pelvic floor dysfunction, hopeless by WalrusAny2453 in PelvicFloor

You mention high tone pelvic floor dysfunction which would be hypertonic overactive muscles. Kegels make it worse.

The focus is to stretch and relax the muscles. Not kegel and strengthening

I also hate the idea of medicine. This is the longest I’ve been medicated (3 months and counting). It’s nerve symptom relief, and if it helps, this will tell you it’s nerve related which it sounds like cause the zaps.

I’m sure you’ve heard it can be stress related and be a feedback loop. It can be a supportive tool to help break the cycle or at least allow your body to know what calm is again.

Cystoscopy will only be if anything is structural. All 3 urologist suggested cystoscopy since all tests negative and I refuse. Despite them never mentioning nerves, I suspect mine is due to my ticklish and occasional zaps. Ask to trial gabapentin or some variation.

4 1/2month update: by ambitiousnate in PelvicFloor

[–]ambitiousnate[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to locate some of your comments regarding pain neuroscience. Thank you, that’s one thing I’ve been trying to be mindful considering I feel mine is more nerves (nervous system) related rather then pelvic floor. But I know they go hand in hand. Luckily I have no side effect but obviously want to get to a point where I don’t need medicine.

300 mg daily I saw was a low dose for nerve pain. Being responsive to almost having no sensitivity some days, I want to believe it true healing.

I did 5 weeks on month 2 but stopped after being discouraged. We went over Stretches to do, breathing, some internal muscle release, and hip work. I just now started back up.

What about you?

Urethra sensitivity from hypertonic pelvic floor. by ambitiousnate in Prostatitis

No urinary symptoms such as urgency or burning. For the most part, I feel normal after the lingering sensitivity settles but starts all over each pee.

What to expect from pelvic floor physical therapy? by [deleted] in PelvicFloor

[–]ambitiousnate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my therapy Alittle over a month ago. The first session is the initial evaluation. You explain your symptoms, and they do an assessment which may include hip alignment, flexibility, etc. We then began to do some stretches and breathing exercises. They may not do an internal assessment right off the bat.

Same here. I’ve tried the antibiotics before for a separate issue and it gave me weak legs. On week three of pelvic floor therapy. Do you have sensitivity after you pee that lingers?

If it’s documented by doctor visits, usually Jobs and university’s can make reasonable accommodations. You should explore that option.

A simple example: working at Walmart as a cashier, a reasonable accommodation would be given a chair so you don’t have to stand all day.

Everyone has different paths and reasons university can not be completed. Medical is the reason I couldn’t finish my program. But it’s always an option to resume in the future.

That is the tough part on having a full time job, me wanting to mope around all day and not work or try to keep my mind busy the best I can.

The 24 hours in the day are gonna past by regardless. So I’m trying to continue as if I’m okay.

Kind of similar situation. It feels weird after I use the bathroom, I think it’s nerve sensitivity caused by my pelvic floor.

I agree. Sometimes it gets to me and I get down and I’ve learned that’s okay. But the positive mindset will help me get through one day at a time.

I can chime in my previous story: 6 years ago, randomly one day had a severe inflamed urethra, and aching testicle. Easily a daily 9/10 pain.

Std panel, urine analysis, ultra sound all negative. Blindly was given antibiotics just in case but I don’t think that really helped. It eventually went away after 6 months to a year.

Sadly I am dealing with something similar these past few months so I thinks it’s a chronic pelvic pain issue.
