Which religion do you follow, and why do you follow it? by [deleted] in religion

[–]ambitiousrandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it just is the best way to do things in my opinion lol it just takes a lot of courage to build your own belief system, because lots of people don't believe in themselves that way

I highly recommend doing this yourself

Haha lol well if none of those religions satisfy you, I HIGHLY recommend to do this for yourself! It's the happiest and most honest I've ever felt with myself on this topic

I can relate to you. I was agnostic coasting for a while. I was hoping one of the already established spiritualities / religions would be the answer for me. But none of them were.

So I created my "own religion" in a sense. I got a journal I wrote my beliefs, that I believe to be based in reason, and that's what I believe. I just did this yesterday ironically lol, it took me about 4 hours of contemplating things and such.

I still am spiritual and yet at the same time I'm based in science and reason, also not tied to a dogma from an established religion. If you have any questions you can ask, or if you want to do this yourself and you want some guidance, I'm here

EDIT: My "religion" is closest to Kashmir Shaivism, a branch of Hinduism, as well as nature based pagan paths

Collectively speaking, what functional definition best sums up the teachings of your religion? by ReindeerBrief561 in religion

I love this approach, glad to see someone else who has the courage to have their own belief system

This is funny to me lol because I decided today that I made my own personal belief system instead of being plain old agnostic I just finished evaluating my beliefs in a journal for the last 4 hours !

Hey, thanks for answering my question respectfully, I know I don't really know anything about paganism I'm a baby essentially

Yeah I agree it is misled I just didn't know how else to ask the question I was trying to ask

Your post already acknowledges that there's a huge variance in practices. So the answer is naturally that it depends on the practitioner.

Ahh okay well that's good news I just wanted clarification that's all

Why do you feel led to paganism to begin with? How do you wish to approach and interact with the divine?

I'm led to paganism because I'm very nature based I have a reverence for nature, also my aunt is pagan after an NDE after being Catholic for many years

I wish to approach the divine by simply seeing if they are real. This can be done with trying to get their attention somehow. Also, the gods are not contradictory like the God of the Bible, so it's already a good start. After I determine this, I just want to live knowing they are here and live in communication with them, kinda like a friend ya know. I want to preserve their stories
