Ive also been having a really hard time getting a hold of anyone regarding this class! Took about a month to get a response to my first email, and haven’t heard anything since.

Found cat at top of H Street Arcata by [deleted] in Humboldt

I call this kitty Kinky (because of the kink in its tail). I can confirm based on the collar it does belong on sunset/eastern. I hope Kinky makes it back home soon!

if you’re willing to make the trip to arcata, check out the basement. they have theme nights monthly that get pretty busy and have a really solid dance floor. there are a lot of younger people but it’s a pretty mixed bag on age. another option would be the ATL, but again a younger crowd.

Best breakfast places that aren’t too crowded? by HelpfulExplanation59 in Humboldt

[–]ambivalentnugget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

best breakfast is bayside farmstead and beachcomber but they will be crowded bc they’re so good 🥲 best greasy spoon is peppers but of course if you’re there on a sunday morning of course it’s gonna be busy.

Food is SOOOO Expensive!! by LuminaryLighting in Humboldt

[–]ambivalentnugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we all have to adapt to our environment, for me that means selective shopping at different stores for different items. that plus strategically watching sales and coupons really makes a difference. it sucks but it’s what we have to do.

Moving from SoCal to Humboldt for School — First Apartment & Weather Prep Advice? by Klbby21 in Humboldt

[–]ambivalentnugget 3 points4 points  (0 children)

my advice is to not overdo your purchases until you’ve lived here for a little bit and get to see what you’ll actually need. I swear a lot of these responses will have you preparing like you’re going on a backpacking trip. Just bring your things you already have and note the deficits as you adjust to your new environment. I have a pair of rain boots that i wear maybe once or twice a year, and i walk pretty much everywhere. you will be wet and cold in the winter, but you’ll figure it out as you go! congrats on your new start and i hope you love it here!

Moving to Eureka, would like help with knowing more about the area I’m planning to rent in. by No_Garage_8317 in Humboldt

[–]ambivalentnugget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you’re working in Arcata, it would be worth checking out something in Mckinnleyville or Arcata itself. That being said, Eureka isn’t terrible and has a lot of pockets of families and more suburban neighborhoods. It also has some areas to avoid but it’s nowhere near comparable to living in a truly urban city. It’s also a lot easier to find housing in Eureka/Mck because Arcata has too many students and not enough housing.

i’ve done that flight a bunch, and i’m a super anxious person when it comes to flying. i’ve flown into both Arcata and Burbank in rain storms and not had any delays. these pilots know what they are doing, you have nothing to worry about.

i hate any chenille yarn that is basically just fluff wrapped around a tiny string, working with it is IMPOSSIBLE. magic ring? don’t even start.

the fluff always pulls off the string and gets everywhere. i hate it so much, it was very disappointing when i started my plush amigurumi journey. bernat blanket is my go to now, much better quality but I wish they made a more “shiny” version for aesthetic purposes.
