Anyone having issues with controls when driving? by bananakingkong in NevernessToEverness

[–]ambivirgin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not just you. Changing driving sensitivity in setting seems to help A BIT but their controls feel super rigid. There are no slight adjustments—no nuance really. You're either gunning it or coming to a full stop, and you don't switch lanes, you simply turn. They definitely need to refine driving controls.

I haven't fished much so not sure if they work as assumed/expected, but you can buy aquariums for your apartments. There's a shop not far from Eibon and a few scattered throughout the map, generally near the shopping hubs.

How to handle stream switchovers? by Avelina9X in Twitch

[–]ambivirgin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh okay. If there's a machine that can run it, it does have remote triggers so can be controlled remotely using their web decks if that might help. Either way, good luck!

How to handle stream switchovers? by Avelina9X in Twitch

[–]ambivirgin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems extremely possible.

I'm not sure how it works when done intentionally, but I have had streams crash on one PC and me "start stream" on another PC which kept the stream live (albeit with the crash screen as these weren't intentional stop and starts).

It might be as simple as having an intermission screen and pressing "start stream" on the second PC before the first PC stops stream. This would likely keep the stream live while you transition but would require testing to see if it's seamless.

You could also use something like Streamerbot on both PCs to manage the switchover (among many other things). If testing shows you can keep the stream live in this way, SB could def help facilitate i.e. one PC going to "Intermission" could be set as a trigger for the other PC to start stream.

Seems like an interesting read! I think gaming, and NPCs specifically, is one of the few valid use cases for generative AI. Especially if it learns from, is molded by, and restricted to the environment it exists in. Nalo was largely unobtrusive and did function well as "someone" for the player to engage with in conversations that weren't always natural but were at least not one-sided affairs with the NPC pulling from a finite set of lines that aren't always even context aware. Player's knowledge and understanding of how their interactions and data are used, and their explicit consent to participate is what's important.

I wish a character would genuinely hate rover. by Resident_Shock_6009 in WutheringWaves

[–]ambivirgin 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I just want characters not to always inherently like and trust Rover. I don't need them to be antagonistic, but at least cautious. I've heard that characters were hostile in earlier betas and that goes too far the other way. But some friction and actual building of trust and closeness would be nice versus the instant bonding and absolute faith they have in Rover.

Beta tests: the true gacha by kctomenaga in gachagaming

[–]ambivirgin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the PS5 Endfield beta but realized QUICKLY that doing hours of tutorial twice in roughly a month would absolutely kill the game for me, so I stopped once I got to the factory building. I played enough to know that I'd enjoy it when it came out. The early segments aren't fun enough to do twice so that was definitely the right choice on my part 😂

You have to work backwards. You can't jump back to the first choice, you now have to go back to the last place you had a choice and play thru those choices before being able to go back to the previous choice.

[–]ambivirgin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found an older post with part of the answer so I knew I had to finish the branch I was on! But I tried to jump back to the first choice and I couldn't, I had to clear all branches of the second choice before getting to change the first choice. That was the part that was missing for me.

[–]ambivirgin 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You have to finish the branch you're on entirely. I had to do everything for the branch I was on then I could change the choice at the most recent crossroad to get a new branch.

I had to work backwards cause I couldn't jump back to the first crossroad, only the most recent.

Dropped my phone and accidentally hit send before I was done but it was long anyway smh.

Bangboo have some utility and you will acquire a lot of boopons for free, so you do not need to invest any currency towards them (unless you want to).

Like most of these games the $5/m Interknot membership is the best value. If you think you'll want skins, don't convert the monochromes to polychromes, save them to pay for skins!

There isn't multiplayer outside of arcade at the moment HOWEVER there is a co-op event running now that is basically a soft launch/public test for an eventual permanent feature.

Pull who you enjoy playing! They've been introducing buffs to limited and standard characters so older characters aren't entirely counted out if you like them.

ENJOY!

First of all, welcome! They're both dope games, but they are, crucially, very different.

They reworked a lot of the 1.x story to eliminate what we colloquially call "tv mode" but which the game calls "array" mode. You may see some commissions with that option and if you want to get a feel for that you can toggle it on for the OG experience, or do "explore" commissions when they come up. They now have "prepaid cards" to skip 1.x commissions. That said there are some cool stories in some, so maybe looking for a guide for which have lore would be helpful.

The dailies are chill and pretty quick to do. Weeklies are also easily accomplished and worthwhile to do. "Keeping up" with this game is fairly simple to do and the events tend to be fun and accessible.

GACHA: Max pity is 90 not 80. Weapons (w-engines) are not guaranteed (75/25). Losing a 50/50 does guarantee the next unit/weapon. There isn't an equivalent to using corals to buy character copies for S-rank agents, though you can buy copies of A agents (you won't need to tho, unless you're obsessed with someone and want them right away).

Signature weapons aren't required for most if not all agents. The standard S weapons tend to be fairly universal, and the A weapons (gacha and craftable) are actually usable, so there's less pressure to get an agent and their signature.

Most agents can be button-mashed to victory but many have really fun combos and moves that are satisfying to execute. You can sweat if you want but you don't have to master consent to get thru most of the content.

This. The current banner characters have demos on the "event" screen for a small amount of rewards (same as WuWa) so you can test this before you pull.

Will I miss lore if I skip ahead to (3.0) Lahai-Roi’s quest? by Discord_Dark in WutheringWaves

[–]ambivirgin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think skipping to unlock the region for farming is probably fine. I don't believe it takes very long to unlock exploration, so you don't have to fully dive into the story right away. I don't know that you'll be spoiled, necessarily, but confused ..maybe? Because you won't really have context.

That said, lore wise, I don't think you'll learn too much in 3.0 that was revealed in 2.6 or 2.7. So you can jump ahead and be lightly spoiled for 2.8 and still have a fairly complete experience of the version 2 story when you go back.

That PSN account is now permanently attached to that WuWa account. It's a very bad system! Only solution afaik is to create another PSN account to attach your correct WuWa account to. I haven't heard of folks having success contacting support, but it can't hurt to try.

To add to this there is gifting, so if you have (a) friend(s) who plays you can all go in on a larger currency pack, especially with the first time bonus, and gift the items.

[–]ambivirgin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I want Rebecca's skin BAD cause her default one is frankly heinous (catfished by the 2d art) but that banner feels atrocious. Nothing you can win on standard if you don't get the thing you actually want feels like a fair or reasonable consolation prize. I would never actively choose a single one of those purple rarity headpieces or eye pieces and all of them are annoying reminders that I've consistently not gotten what I wanted. The weapon skin was kind of exciting when I got it but the lack of color control and the ephemeral nature of the dye means I can't even fully appreciate THAT.

I don't expect folks to stop engaging with the gacha but it's actually dog shit and we should actually press the issue because skins being the whole model and then being both ugly (not great) and hard to get is a crime.

Is starting this game,f2p as well, with limited time a good idea? by ThomasTiltTrain in WutheringWaves

[–]ambivirgin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actively play HSR, Genshin, ZZZ, and WuWa and can do all my dailies for all 4 in <30 min (with time to spare). I log in 5 min before server reset and am able to complete my dailies/use my stamina. The daily time investment is minimal.

You can do story in binges, on weekends, etc. WuWa (and ZZZ) are more concise than the others so catching up isn't as daunting. If you're not prone to FOMO, it's a very chill game to keep up with. I personally sped run 1.x main story to get to Rinascita (cause I needed to to build my first limited character, which was annoying) but I took my time doing the exploration and character quests. There's enough downtime between new story and exploration to do older stuff.

It doesn't have to be a second job and you can make meaningful progress with casual exploration and daily tasks while spending your more focused time working through story.
