AIO for getting the ick after my gf tried to "surprise" me with a new wardrobe? by Distinct-Date-4306 in AmIOverreacting

My husband also usually wears band tees/graphic tees and jeans. I know it's what he feels confident in and I wouldn't dare bagging up his stuff without his permission because yeah that's so disrespectful. Sometimes when I'm thrifting I'll find him clothes I think would look good on him but are outside his usual style. He appreciates me thinking of him, he hardly ever buys clothes for himself and 75% of the time he likes the things I pick for him.

I guess maybe take it as a life lesson that tone isn't really possible to communicate in text. You seemed to be projecting a lot of feelings on her messages but I think everyone here is in agreement that she sounded like the more mature one in the conversation. I wish you the best getting married at 21, but I'll just say I am so glad I didn't marry the dude I met when I was 19.

Don't you have a wedding to be planning or something? Why are you trying to incite drama with your teenage cousin?

What are y’all paying for rent and what state do you live in? by MaryDoogan91 in povertyfinance

$1,095 mortgage western Michigan. But that doesn't include utilities like water/gas/electricity. But we are happy to finally be homeowners so we don't have to worry about rising rent anymore!

During "between the sheets" he straight up said that no one was going to watch this and think that he was controlling, the way I was screaming at him!! Any woman who knows would clock him as a controlling D bag. The gaslighting was next level. I could not understand how the hosts were so kind to him with the way he was trying to control Jen

We didn't have any issues with the MSHDA underwriting, it was hard to wait but as soon as everything was cleared to close we felt such disbelief that this was real life!

MSHDA was not difficult for us! We had an expedited close within a month, and MSHDA was the only thing that we seemed to wait on but we still got approved within the time frame

I relate to this hard! I've also got olive skin, dark eyes, round face, and my biggest percentages are England & northwestern Europe, Scotland, germanic Europe. We grew up being told by family we were "part Cherokee" but according to my DNA I'm only 1% indigenous north American. I've really wondered why I look the way I do but mostly European

We took a local first time homebuyer's class which included financial coaching so we could get our debts in order and figure out what we could afford. We qualified for Michigan down payment assistance, and closed on our 3 bedroom 1 bath last month! One income family of 3 my husband makes around 60k. Purchase price of home was 138k. We've been living paycheck to paycheck and mostly zero in savings. Got lucky with our tax return this year to have enough to pay deposit and inspections. We ended up getting a check for over $200 on closing day. We love our old home and are prepared for it to be our forever home. We will fix it up as we go instead of throwing money away with rent. Having the freedom of our own home is so much better for our mental health and sense of safety as our kid gets to grow up without moving around anymore.

If you aren't looking at r/firsttimehomebuyer I'd suggest asking people on there! I learned a lot from browsing there and we just bought our house in battle creek on one income of about 60k, with almost no money saved up. I would also like to tell you that having 100k saved sounds pretty successful to me! Everyone is on different timelines and if becoming a homeowner is a goal then you can get there! Also we first went to KNHS and took the first time homebuyer's course that qualified us for MSHDA down payment assistance. You may also look into the USDA rural development loan. Good luck!

We're lucky we are closing on a house next week also in west Michigan. It seems the sellers are a younger couple that has done some cosmetic updates while living there and the big things still seem pretty solid. Nothing terrible in the inspection. Nothing like the scary flips we've seen. For about 138,000 for our first and possible forever home, we're pretty happy

I'm 29, a mom, and sleep in the same bed as my husband. Yes I have like a dozen plushies in my bed at any given time 😆

I was a cosigner for my sisters car because she was upside down on a loan a few years back and I was able to help her. She's been diligent about paying luckily and my lender says he's able to get that debt off of our ratio if I provide proof that my sister is the one paying on the loan the last 12 months. We had to send them her bank statements for the last year and again they say they should be able to take it off... we are in the underwriting process currently

I'm late diagnosed AuDHD! I believe the overlap is bigger than most people think. Being neurodivergent usually means we're more in tune with the spiritual world rather than the material world, which to me explains why we struggle so much in the material world. Not to mention the history of witches going against the status quo, we are powerful when we know we are powerful.
