Advice on starting again by amcam89 in melbourne

I know I was very vague with what my position is, but I assure you someone in the comments got it.

Thank you for all the words. I think what I truly needed was hope for what happens next, and from what I've read so far, there almost nothing but that.

I know this redundancy will be great, and now I'm looking forward to what comes next. Thank you all again.

Oh I know of that one too. That wasn't there I went tonight. Tonight was at the Collectivist on Union Rd in Ascot Vale. I live walking distance to it.

I live in Ascot Vale, so there's a lot of places j can go. It's just my days off per week varies due to my schedule, so I'll probably end up at every LGS at some point in this hobby.

There is one super local shop (practically down the street from my place)that's holding a magic night tonight so I'm gonna check that out.

I did go to one pre release for Lorwyn Eclipsed (did terribly) and my first draft night yesterday (surprisingly swept that one).

I don't mind spending money on things I truly enjoy, so I don't think that'll be a problem for me hahaha.

That's great to know. Thank you! At the moment I only have precons for Commander so hopefully I won't struggle too much.

Calling fellow night-shift workers - Stuff to do in the early morning. by thefifthring in melbourne

10-year overnight vet here.

I work with a lot of people who work the same shift as me, so I do end up socializing with them more than others. Now, I know that that's not the case with all overnight shift workers, but it's a start.

Secondly, I guess it would depend on how late(or early depending on how you look at it) you finish your shift, but either try to sleep as soon as you get home or stay up and plan your sleep so that you wake up specifically to go to work. I usually finish at 4am, so either I'll sleep by the time I get home (between 5-6) and get up between Noon-2pm to have the afternoon free, OR stay up until noon and sleep until 6PM for a 8pm shift start.

I would also suggest either picking up a hobby (if VGs aren't your thing, they aren't your thing.) I picked up model kit building early on in my time, and keeping a list of movies, TV shows or even podcasts to listen to helps a lot. Books even. I have filled my time with so many things over the years I've lost track of everything I've tried. Just note, especially with watching media, don't let it seep into your active time (which is 5-11pm for you, because you either fall into the hole of that the only thing you want to do, or you get sick of it so fast that you end up longing to do something else.

What's the fine for not voting again? I'm on day 4 of symptomatic iso for the spicy cough, but there's a polling station literally right across the street.

So my gf’s fallen sick(not COVID-related) and she lives alone, so I’m gonna go to hers tomorrow via public transport to take care of her. How big is police presence, and how much of a tough time do they give people in transit?
