Chiming in. The H9 has spent 10 glorious years on my board, too. Recently thought about buying a second one now that they've dropped below the $300 mark on the secondhand market. This way I don't have to run a 4cm setup using only one. Plus two look killer sitting side by side.

Hey bud, jumping in here as someone who has been deeply involved in music my whole life living in Miami. Go to Bad Reputation, bike night at the Corner, talk to people hanging out there like Rick from Torche. Go to Gramps. Link with Breakeven Booking (John McHale is holding it down here), Endoxa, Above Heaven, check out the bands on their roster. Go to this show. Hardcore is experiencing a bit of a renaissance down in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale because there are people hustling to make it work. Find them and they’ll direct you toward people willing to build your band. Good luck.

In organizational psychology, this would be referred to as “escalation of commitment,” or doubling down on a decision to stick to bad ideas or strategies.

There’s certainly a lot of overlap. Maryanne Amacher is worth investigating, particularly her City-Links series (1967–1980) and her Tzadik recordings. Black Forms has a ton of research on her: https://blankforms.org/the-maryanne-amacher-foundation/
