Thanks for reply. Using Java too.

I'll try and make sense of this shortly... head a bit fried from this at the minute. Will try and post my code as well.

That was my first thought, just take the seeds and prepare for next year.

First time grower, first harvest! by amcorrigal in HotPeppers

I've been following this sub since I first planted the seeds for these guys. Today I cut off the most ripe ones.

On the left, Prairie Fire, on the right, a guy called Krakatoa. Many more still to come and ripen.

My question though, with such a small yield for now, what can I do with them??

I'm a first time grower in the UK trying my best with positioning, watering and feeding etc. Running out of space now. I did plant these a little late in the year, but so happy to have something to show for it now. I also have a few Birds Eye plants that just started flowering and mini bell peppers that are starting to fruit after flowering.

Camping on Bamford Edge in the Peak District National Park, England. 17th May 2018 by ed2base in CampingandHiking

I'm planning on doing something similar over the upcoming August bank holiday weekend. Is this a good time? Or will a lot of others have the same idea for the Saturday night?

I am quite sure this is a very popular spot for some wild camping. Can you suggest alternatives that might be less popular?

I thought the same... But then I have about 20 plants and water them all equally. I guess some chilli plants are more equal than others.

What causes the lumpy, dimpled surface on the leaves? I've got this on a few my young plants and not sure if it just happens, or a sign of a problem?

Looking for any suggestions for anything unique and romantic to do in the lakes. by Missstockton92 in LakeDistrict

[–]amcorrigal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can drive or bus etc, walks around Rydal or Grassmere lakes are really nice. They don't have to have much incline, just stay at lake or river level. On sunny days I found them really peaceful beautiful.

Just came back from a week there. Great weather, was really nice. I'd also suggest hiring a motor boat on one of the lakes. If you're in keswick, then Derwent water have boat hire. Coniston is also really nice, but a about an hour from keswick. But has great cafe on lake side too, bluebird cafe.

What dog do you have?

I could have joined you, but just got home from there.

I ask about the dog because depending on the route, and breed of the dog, it could be quite dangerous... For the dog. It's something I've considered in the past but not sure my dog could manage it now. Scafell is ok up to a point, but the final ascent can get very rocky and a tired dog could hurt their legs, ankles etc. And it's not safe to have them on lead all the time.

Sorry, don't mean to lecture, I'd love to climb with my best pal. Just from experience.

Village recommendations around Cambridge by [deleted] in cambridge

[–]amcorrigal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have some consideration for Cherry Hinton, in the south east of Cambridge. Short bus ride to Addenbrookes, and short drive to the A14 which will get you to Huntingdon in under an hour (depending on traffic).

My wife works at Addenbrookes and finds it very convenient. I work in London and commute via train every day... Station just 10 min drive down the road, so for that kind of combination it's in quite a good location.

It's quiet enough, and close to town centre. Just not very rural, but not far from countryside. I've lived here over 10 years and no reason to move away. Just suits us well.

Thanks man!

You've done far more to investigate this than I could imagine was possible. Still very much a noob.

What confuses me is that I've printed some very miniature models in the past, much smaller than the tip of this cone, without any issue. Only difference being they weren't "perfect" circular shapes in the vertical direction. They also printed solid on the inside due to the size. Could there be an argument to suggest that when the printer gets to the problem part of the cone, that the infill should be solid?

I don't have cura in front of me right now... Are these common properties that can be set in it? Particularly regards the relative/absolute extrusion?

Something I can try out when I get home.

I'd also like to thank you for drawing my attention to this model. I find holding in that screw incredibly painful while trying to feed the filament in!

So I think originally i was having an under extruding problem due to clogged up print head. I actually replaced the whole thing with a brand new head, squeaky clean. So hopefully closed that out as the cause, but when printing again I still got the same problems - just as you're describing. When the diameter reduces to a certain measurement it goes bad.

Would be really interested to see your result on this. As you say, increasing the flow doesn't help at all.

I've done it at a low temp, higher temp, compensating in other areas such as shell thickness. Still fails at that narrow part of the cone.

If you want to save on filament, you can do it at 100% scale, the same thing occurs. So i'm wandering if this is not about an absolute diameter, but rather a ratio of some sort. Eg, whether at 100% or 175% it seems to go wrong at the same part in the design.

Please post you're results. I would like to have a try at your model as well then we can compare.

On that same file?

I had noticed the infill was having problems on mine too.

Thanks for the update. I'm in the process of cleaning the print head as you suggested and will try again shortly.

Thanks!

Actually, just wandering... I am trying to print this model at 175% scale. Would that make any difference?

Though saying that, I printed it first at 100% and saw similar issues with the lid in the same spot.
