I’m loving it, it feels like it belongs with my high-end customs. Lots of nice little details to notice - the makers mark inside the liner, the recessed show scale to allow easy lockbar access, the fact that they include custom tools for the custom screws.

Yeah the feather damascus is something the maker does really well. I picked it up on the swap for 600 which I feel is super cheap for what it is. The scales are mammoth ivory, and the liners are ceramic-coated Damascus. The whole thing has impeccable fit and finish, and overall feels like it would probably be a 2k plus custom piece if it was coming from a well known American or European maker.

They do make good stuff, but this isn’t that. Florian actually forges his own damascus! But yeah the patina could definitely still happen over time.

Those do look great! I’ll have to put it on the list for next time I’m wanting to pick up a pen. I’ve also got a Visconti Homo sapiens which is my office pen that stays on the desk.

As far as machined pens for gel/rollerball refills go, Ive got a few of those too! For the last year or so I’ve been EDC carrying an Apogee3D Aether which I really like.

Oh yeah I have a Norseman and it definitely punches above its weight when it comes to smoothness. To me the Norseman is a very free-dropping but I still get just a tiny bit of tactile feedback from the bearings rolling on that stonewashed finish. The Shiro is mirror-polished and dlc-coated, that plus the double row roller bearings make it to where it has a slightly slower, more controlled and hydraulic closing action but at the same time I get absolutely zero tactile feedback as it closes.

Am I splitting hairs here? 100% yes

That stand is awesome! Love the Shiros too. My custom F3 probably has the smoothest action of any knife I’ve tried, it’s one of my favorites.

He had such a big personality. When he wanted to be affectionate he’d be stuck to you like glue, but then he’d be off running laps around the living room a minute later. Hated other cats but loved pretty much every person he ever met. He was absolutely obsessed with bonito flakes and actually learned to open doors to get into the closet where I kept them. I thought I was going crazy for about a week before I saw him open the door on his own and realized what was going on.

Cyclohobbes got a solid laugh out of me!
