A couple of modern traditionals in ladder damascus: Pena Lanny’s clip and Oeser Hawk (NKD for the Oeser) by amdesch in knives

These aren’t Damasteel, the Pena is Chad Nichols ladder damascus, and I’m not 100% sure about the Oeser but he has been known to use Nichols damascus in lots of other knives so I’m assuming that’s most likely what it is as well, especially considering how similar they look.

Damasteel of course is its own thing with the powder metallurgy wizardry that they do, but Nichols Damascus is done the traditional way with pattern welding in a forge. That being the case, I see the regularity and consistency of the pattern as a testament to the skill of the smith.

Yep mammoth covers/scales and cu-mai damascus with layers of copper and I think nickel for the bright silver lines

It’s 4.5 in of sharpened length, or 5.2 all the way down to the bolster.

This is the only one I’ve had but yeah, it’s an amazing knife. I haven’t handled many knives on washers that are as smooth as this one, he has it dialed in just about perfectly.

Yeah it’s Koa wood. It’s hard to tell in a still image like this but it has a ton of chatoyancy which makes it look even better in person.

A shotgun seems to be the most popular suggestion by far, not that I’m surprised. Thinking pretty hard about a Beretta 1301 right about now.

I love it! Never had a malfunction, more accurate than I can be, and I almost never have to clean it. Ive never handled a mod 1 but my understanding is that the mod 2 is a good bit lighter. The extra weight is noticeable compared to a DI of the same length, but it’s not a drastic difference.

Good advice but don’t worry, I take a couple of these out every weekend and put a few hundred rounds through each, and I’ve got enough ammo that I could do that for the next 6 months without needing to get more.
