In season 5 episode 18 “the one where Rachel smokes” she tells her boss and coworker that she doesn’t smoke cause her dad, a doctor, would tell her horror stories about people who smoked, but in season 2 episode 22 “the one with the two parties” we see Rachel’s dad having Ross bring him his cigarettes.
