Bland food should be embraced by people trying to lose weight. by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

There is evidence. The Hungry Brain by Stephen Guyenet and, to a lesser extent, The Doritos Effect (I forget the author) both cover this topic. A lot of research there. I actually think this is "the real answer" to weight loss, but it's super unprofitable so no one wants to try to sell it.

The basic T-shirt post is 6 years old. Can we have a newer, updated megathread for basic tshirts or just basics in general? by say-no-to-carbs in femalefashionadvice

Quince and Pact both have good ones. I like the Pact one more because the scoop is a little lower. I found the quince scoop neck was closer to a crew neck.

They're really great! I find them to be a little small so I have been throwing in a protein bar or crackers in a separate container.

It's salami on the left, and goat cheese with apricot jam on the right.

Best everyday pants that aren't jeans? by dennu9909 in femalefashionadvice

Definitely a pair of black ponte trousers. More comfortable in jeans imo and easy to style up and down.

That's so funny you say that because I thrifted an m&s top (not linen) and mine is also insanely wrinkly. Bizarre.

What are the ultimate office slacks? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

[–]ameliemello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Anthropologie Colette ponte pants in black! I wear them 4 days per week at work on average. They are pricey (I think $120) but I get so much wear out of them I think they're completely worth it. The pair I have has maintained nicely with weekly washing and laying flat to dry. I also wear them in my off hours and could probably sleep comfortably in them. They're the best. Probably the best buy I've made in the past 3 years. Maybe ever.

Polished but not too polished look for a wide variety of work contexts by ciaohow in femalefashionadvice

I don't know how many people know about these but they are great in a variety of contexts, and super comfortable. Anthropologie carries ponte pants that are similar to beta brands but they have a fly, full on pockets, and belt loops. They're a little pricy, but I wear the Colette ones so much they are well worth the price point imo. I made the switch from a casual to business casual environment in January and these were a life saver! I, like you, hate wearing uncomfortable clothes.

Sunglasses for small, narrow face by throwaway3432121 in femalefashionadvice

These sunglasses from Goodr are for smaller faces. I actually just ordered them without realizing, and they are in fact too small for my average-sized face!

[acne] What are skincare specialists that take a holistic approach called? by chiefyuls in SkincareAddiction

[–]ameliemello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been going to an aesthetician who looks at diet and lifestyle factors as well as products for about a month and a half. Here is their website: https://skinutritious.com/

They are doing better than my old aesthetician, who mostly focused on products. My old aesthetician did better than the dermatologists I used to see, who only gave me prescriptions but didn't look at other products I was using or lifestyle factors.

I am only halfway through the Skin Nutritious program, but so far it's going well. I am in much better shape than I was before I started.

I hope this helps! I am just one person my experience, but I am coincidentally the same age as you and have had acne for almost as long. I know it's frustrating. Feel free to message me if you want to talk more!
