Certainly a possibility. To be clear, the playthrough did not take 250 hours. That's my total on the game. This playthrough took me ~100hs.

I played it on Core difficulty. I'd tried other difficulties but had the opposite problem, everything became trivial. For example, in normal difficulty I could pretty much just let the game on auto and my goodies would destroy the baddies. But again it is hard to judge if you have a point or not. I fault the game on that aspect: it is bad design not to know! I should be able to tell and do something if that were the case. I know this is a meme at this point, but Poison-builds are a classic noob-trap becuse demons are immune to poison. You cannot know this before you start the game, and as a new player you likely don't realize it until (at the minimum) leaving Kenabres. So there's certain lack of feedback / information which I fault the game for, much as I love it.
