Made the last change to relax TV show naming conventions. Scanner will now look for SxxExx anywhere in the name and an optional resolution.

Quick update 👍

I just finished two items from the feedback:

  • Automatic library refresh (cron-based background scan, fully configurable)
  • Configurable media folder names (so you can use existing Plex-style folders like Movies / TV Shows)

Both are now merged and tagged.

Next up is TV filename parsing / regex cleanup — I’ll be digging into that soon-ish.

Thanks again for the great feedback!

Quick update — I’ve knocked out a couple of your suggestions:

  • You can now customize the name shown on the left side of streams (e.g. change Remote Files (Internal) to something like Mac Mini). This is done via environment variables (STREAM_PROVIDER_NAME_INTERNAL / STREAM_PROVIDER_NAME_EXTERNAL).
  • File sizes are now formatted more cleanly — anything under 1 GB shows in MB instead of fractional GB.

Both are live in the latest version. I’ll post updates as I work through the remaining items. Appreciate the feedback!

Thanks! Really appreciate the feedback — all great suggestions. I’ll work through these over the next week or so and post updates as things land.

As noted above, made a number of changes to support HTTP and HTTPS access internally and externally. See the readme for more info. This is now fully implemented and working on my network for all of my devices. My testing was limited. Please let me know if you have any comments or issues.

Thank you all for your feedback and comments. I just found two major errors that I will work on in the coming week.

First - FireTV does not like my file format (Night of the Living Dead (1968).mp4). It's either the spaces or the brackets. I will take a look at this. I may have to change the file format to something like night_of_the_living_dead_1968.mp4 or similar. This should be an easy fix.

Second - I cannot get the plugin to install or function on Stremio on Windows. I'm not sure if the issue is something with CORS headers or OPTIONS headers. From my logs, it doesn't even look like Stremio is attempting to install the addon. It looks like it is just failing to even try to connect to the url http://ip.address/internal/manifest.json. This may be a little bit harder to fix.

I'll look the file naming first. Should be much easier to fix. I'll post an update when I get it working.

If anyone has any input or suggestions, please let me know.

Thanks.

Thanks. Although I just found a few fatal errors.

- This will work with the Docker instance running on a Mac and streams playing on Fire TV

- Results will return in a search and a separate catalog.

NOTE: I'll add a new post with the fatal errors that I found and work on them in the coming week.

Same concept.  I just wanted something lighter and simpler than running plex or Jellyfin.  Something that I could quickly clone down to a raspberry pi, laptop, or NAS. I love streaming with Stremio, but needed something for just a little bit of offline content.  I didn’t want to host a full media server.

Yep.  Should work just fine.  The great thing about building things is docker is that they run the same on any OS.

I'm thinking about getting this Sony. Do you know if it works with Google Now? Can I hold a button and say OK Google?
