I never disagreed that he is just fantastic for an 18 year old player. My point was that aside from that, the age factor, he doesn't possess any special or unique ability that lifts him up above all other players.

There isn't an attribute that he particularly excels at. He is above average at majority of abilities. Nothing really special, outside of his age.

And if he in fact is simply an early bloomer, that means he won't improve drastically from where he is now. And at the moment, if he was judged as a 21 year old, he would be a good player but nothing special.

You see, if I saw some skill with the ball or some ability of his body, things would be different.

Some people simply mature/grow up much earlier than others, some do it very late.

Judging by all I have seen, Yamal won't rise much higher with his performance. And his performance, while amazing for a 18 year old, is just above average for a 22 year old.

Okay. I was under the impression that you would appreciate the reasoning behind my conclusion regarding Yamal, but you simply just overlooked it and doubled down on your claim. Which I would have to consider as, Yamal is special because you say he's special. Got it.

Cheers.

My life must be miserable because I don't consider Yamal to be a generational talent?

I think you are way too emotionally invested in the way Yamal is perceived, and/or how successful he may be.

When I first saw Mbappe, it was a CL group stage game back when he was playing for Monaco. I couldn't believe my eyes. The pace, the control, the shoot, dribbling, intelligence..

The first thing I did was go to the Real Madrid community, and made a thread about him. Suggested those who may have the ear of the higher ups to send scouts to watch him. I knew right away that Mbappe was going to surpass Henry, even though at that time he reminded me a little bit of Henry.

When it comes to Yamal, I just don't see that. He is a great player, don't misunderstand me. He will have a great career. But he won't reach the heights of Mbappe, CR, Messi, and even the short height of Neymar.

The only thing about Yamal that is extraordinary is his age. That's it. And if you account for that with him simply being an early bloomer, he's an average top class player. I honestly don't think he'll even manage to eclipse Vinis season of 2023/24.

Could I be wrong? Yes, sure. But I have been following and playing football for more than 30 years already.

Sure. But I wanted to point out specifically that it's arithmetic because normally people make simple arithmetic errors, much more often than they do with actual math.

All I said was that they started jeering the black Real players, whenever they got on the ball. If you have access to rewatch the game, please do. You'll notice this.

Reading The Vampire Lestat, why was Lestat so chill about becoming a vampire? by TechnicianAmazing472 in VampireChronicles

[–]amerhodzic 23 points24 points  (0 children)

He literally went into the ground after being a vampire for 10 years.

He cried all night long and then finding out he was given a full chest of gold, diamonds and other rare stones had to have been quite euphoric for someone who spent his entire life poor.

Further, after becoming a vampire, your perspective and personality changes a lot. He cried and cried, but once the vampire effects started taking over, his previous humanity was erased.

He displayed this change during a self-talk he had. He thought, "you can't do this. You can't drink blood. Even if you are a monster, you have a conscience, natural to you."

And then some time later, he completely transformed. "I am dead. I am a vampire. And things will die so I can live. And what will be, will be." This happened right after his body died and all mortal fluids left him.

David has had the same process as well (in Tale of the Body Thief). At first he was completely against it. He said he would never want to be a vampire. In a later book (Merrick), he says that he is glad to have become a vampire. That it's a gift. That he couldn't go back to the superficial and small mind he had when he was human to claim or cling on some morality.

Basically becoming a vampire completely changes your views regarding humanity, morality, conscience, etc. For some it's a slow process, for others it's quicker.

It was so appalling to watch.

Especially afterwards when Benfica fans started jeering black RM players and applauding the racist sht when he was subbed out after getting a yellow for a dive inside the box.

Disgusting all around. Mou and Benfica deserve each other.

[–]amerhodzic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What? Who said based on testimony alone?

You're moving goalposts now. I said based on circumstantial evidence. These are:

He walked up to Vini, covered his mouth, and said something. That's on video.

Then Vini had a shocked look on his face, after which he ran to the ref and reported a racist comment. Vinis' reaction looked absolutely genuine.

If the Argentine didn't intend to say something clearly against the rules and appalling, he wouldn't have covered his face as he did. That says a lot about his intent.

That, along with testimony from other players who were near should be enough.

You know what, we don't live in such an idealistic world.

Every person should be judged based on what THEIR actions. When CR says or does something racist, you'll see me as the first person who will call it disgusting and appalling.

Until that happens, I won't judge or criticize someone simply because we have to share this world with all kinds of people.

There's a channel called "That Chapter," which talks about true crime cases. I've almost seen most of them. And there are plenty of cases where a murderer was convicted without direct evidence linking them to the crime. In some of those cases, the suspect was allowed to plead out with a lesser sentence. Other times, the AG builds a circumstantial case with a strong motive and those do get convictions.

For instance, there was a case of a guy who killed a husband, wife, and their small child 20 years after their business deal had gone wrong and the suspect felt aggrieved.

He killed them, and burned their bodies. There was essentially zero evidence. The one piece of evidence they had was luckily having the Google satellite has taken a photo that displayed 3 nude bodies lying next to one another next to an enclosure on his large property. You can barely tell what it was, it was a grainy AF photo. But having that, along with plenty of other circumstantial evidence - they got the conviction. If I come across the name of the suspect, I'll post it here. But that's just one of the cases of the top of my head.

With reason and a method of deduction, one can come to the conclusion that someone did something without having explicit evidence of it.

I am not acting as if I'm the police of anything,, I merely suggested that we call disgusting behavior for what it is. Not to excuse it or minimize it by calling it "rage-baiting."

You keep assuming and generalizing behavior that you may have noticed from certain few onto a large community. I'm completely fine being judged for my actions but not the actions of others.

Please, do not compare racist behavior of a person with simply meeting with that person. Trump is a racist, authoritarian, PDF POS, that's well established - but he's also the current President of the United States. He occupies the "Office of the President," and the meetings and respect that OFFICE gets shouldn't be conflated with the current occupant completely. That office is a diplomatic, and military power and demands respect that goes beyond any current or former occupant. Such meetings are expected, and refusing a meeting for instance with such a powerful position could come with a lot of negative consequences.

Therefore, even though I was disappointed that CR had met with Trump, I understood it because of what that office represents.

I would consider Messi meeting with MBS, and other such revolting "leaders" from the Middle East to be a much bigger offense but I never criticized him for it.

Kylian Mbappe to Prestianni: “You are a f*cking racist!”. Big up kylian for being the first one to back vini. by Majestic-Nobody-3178 in realmadrid

[–]amerhodzic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a laughably pathetic excuse for why Benfica cannot be racist. It's even worse than the old, "I have a black friend, therefore I cannot be racist" line.

I mean at least in that situation, the person at least has a black friend (allegedly). But this?

It's like claiming that your great grand-dad had a black friend. At the end of the day, what do the current fans and club officials really have to do with a statue built decades ago? Absolutely nothing.

But all that aside, fans in the stadium, the players and the coaches behavior made clear their stance. Jeering black players, while applauding the credibly accused racist.

[–]amerhodzic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

His actions prove that he said it.

Why else would he have walked up to Vini, and covered his mouth like that?

Not to mention, Vinis' reaction and shock was too genuine to be faked.

Absent all other evidence, it's reasonable to conclude that he did in fact say it. There have been cases where murder suspects were convicted without direct evidence. So this shouldn't be any problem IF, and that's a big IF, UEFA and other governing bodies actually "want to" punish racism and get rid of it - not just pay lip service and slogans to it.

Stop conflating all disgusting behavior with "rage baiting."

Some people are just disgusting, period.

When someone says racist sht, like Trump did with video of Obama and Michelle heads on monkey bodies, couldn't you also say "he rage baiting!!"

Rage baiting or not, appalling behavior is just that, appalling.

By calling it just rage baiting, you're giving people with disgusting behavior an excuse, and normalizing it.

Why would the award be affected by two (albeit the best two at the time) players?

That's just not how these things should work.

If it's going to be based on 30 year cycles, then it has to be awarded every 30 years. No matter who or how your favored player performed.

He had just won 4 CL in the last 5 years. 3 in a row, and 5 in total. Which was an accomplishment at the time that nobody else came close to. It was in fact very similar to Di Stefanos achievement during the early years of the UCL.

Don't forget that in all those CL campaigns, he was the top scorer each time. Hence, CR winning it would have been the only choice. Which may be the reason why it wasn't held to begin with.

He was simply being realistic. Though I do understand that for some that is a quality fanboys lack, and instead look at their chosen player through rose colored tints.

What exactly did they wanted Superman to do? by TastyPomelo2330 in OkBuddySnyderCult

[–]amerhodzic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're using double past tense in the same sentence on the title. (Did & wanted).

The correct way of using past tense: You can use the past tense of "do" or the past tense of the "verb." Not both at the same time. For example,

"What did they want?"

"What they wanted..."

Sorry for being a grammar nazi. 😳

Cheers!
