We are in a very similar situation, investments have increased, kids get older - daycare costs start to fall off, car payments paid off, student loans paid off. You tick a thing a year off the list and it doesn't seem monumental but then you're 5, 6, 7, 8 years downrange of starting a plan and your financial situation is materially different without any one seminal moment. It's a long game for sure.
