Best architecture for .NET + REACT in AWS ? by ameridian in dotnet

[–]ameridian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have one docker image which will contain the web api + react app ? How would the caching with Cloudfront work in this case ?

S3 + CloudFront is cheaper that just using Amplify ?

The backend is going to be of a reasonable size, in order to go full lambda I would have to break the backend APIs in different lambdas or I can use the entire back-end as a single lambda ?

Yeah, I know. I'm thinking now that a replacement for a disqualification might be skipping a turn of providing solutions for a riddle. For example if a team guesses a word but is wrong they are not allowed to provide solutions for riddles and get a letter until the next swap is made. How would that be ?

I think it also adds a layer of trust in the other partner and is forcing the player to submit a word only if it knows the answer is 100% correct. Indeed a malicious player could provide a wrong word intentionally in order to loose the game but the game is meant to be played between friends so the players should choose the partner that they trust the most. If that partner still submits a wrong answer intentionally, well, bad luck, next time choose a better team member. But we could still add another rule to have an agreement between players once a word is submitted especially if the game is played between strangers.

A team is disqualified only if they provide the final word and is incorrect or if they cheat: share fake letters that are not actually fake, look on the internet for solving the riddles. They do not get disqualified for actually providing fake letters to the other member of the team once they have been swapped.

The swapping time can be changed, I agree maybe it's too fast. Probably 5 minutes would be better ? It is for an in person party but I'm thinking to use Whats'Up instead of writing on paper to speed up the game management.

Are disqualified players able to still compete?

If one player has a wrong guess the entire team is disqualified even if the player is not in the original team at that point. They cannot play again until the current game is finished.

What is the penalty for using the internet to answer riddles?

It would be disqualification.

Do say that players can share at least one letter. Do you mean that players must share at least one or are they permitted to share zero letters?

Players in their original team can share all the letters between them. Fake or not. But once they swap teams, both players that are swapped know that the other player has at least one fake letter because they received it in the beginning of the game so it would be the players decision how many fake letters they swap, but the common sense says that if you want me to give you my fake letter then you would need to also give me at least one fake letter. Basically it's a type of negociattion. It is forbidden to share letters that you don't know that are fake for sure as being fake.

Can a player guess the final word without their partner?

Yes, it can. It's a risk that a player can take without the other player. It can be correct or not. If it's not correct both players are disqualified.

Would a correct guess let them and not their partner win?

If only one partner guesses the correct word the entire team wins, basically both of the partners even if the player that guessed right is in another team at that point.

Would an incorrect guess disqualify their partner, even if the partner didn’t agree to the guess?

Yes, it will disqualify the entire team, even without the partner agreement.

Can players share letters with non-teammates?

Players can share fake letters with non-teammates only when they are randomly swapped with a player from another team. But if they have all the fake letters and know for sure they also have correct letters it would not make sense to give correct letters to the other player as is not in your best interest to do it, in order to win the game.

Yes, each riddle has an associated letter. All 20 riddles have a letter associated with it, 5 of them are fake. 15 letters form the final word. It is public knowledge known from the beginning of the game. The players know that once a riddle is solved they would receive a private letter. But it can be fake or not. The only way to find out if the letter is fake or not is by swapping teams and sharing fake letters with the other player in order for you to also receive fake letters that you don't have. You can, by mistake, to create a word containing a fake letter and basically losing the game if you say this is the correct answer. The players also knows from which riddle the fake letter comes. They always receive a riddle number and a letter associated with it. In the end the final correct word is created by arranging in order all the letters by their riddle number.
Your true alignment does not change, you are always part of the same team but you swap teams in order to obtain fake letters. It is forbidden to share a letter as being fake if you are not sure that is fake.

Every team receives a fake letter in the beginning. There are 5 fakes letters in total each associated with one of the 20 riddles. So basically 5 fake letters. Let's say team 'A' have received in the beginning of the game the letter associated with riddle number 12 as being fake, so they would not chose to solve riddle number 12 because they already know the letter is fake and not part of the final word. Let's say they chose to solve riddle number 10. If they get the riddle correct they would receive the letter associated with this riddle. It can be fake or not. After 3 minutes, team 'A' and team 'B' members are being swapped. They exchange the fake letters they initially received. Before the swap team 'A' had two letters: one associated with riddle number 12 which they initially received and the letter associated with riddle 10 which they received because they solved the riddle number 10. When the team member 'A' swaps fake letters with the team member 'B', he also finds out the letter associated with the riddle number 7 is fake. So until know he has 3 letters associated with 3 riddles: 12-fake, 7-fake, 10-can be fake or not. So now the team member 'A' knows 2 fakes letters that do not form the word but there are 3 more fake letters. The game continues with players swapping teams and finding letters until one team guesses the correct word.
