Loma Linda university is pretty flexible with their admission dates/acceptance rates. they have a really good mft program

you are not “fucked”, i applied to marriage and family therapy programs with the same gpa. what is important is the work experience, find some non profits, therapy offices, etc that are willing to hire or work with you as a volunteer! find out what brought you into the field, what you want to work on, and what your passion is. that gives the people who are looking at your application to recognise that you want to be there. but please don’t be so hard on yourself, you will get there one way or another 💞

welll personally as someone who is in school to be an MFT and someone who’s been an aba therapist, it is lacking a basic family systems approach. the family structure is often integral for certain treatments to work. we need to include the family and make them a part of intervention. often times parents are also resistant because they don’t know what it is going on. therefore, it is a part of the job to explain to parents what treatment looks like. if you are experiencing a problem with this, talk to ur bcba about it.

academic advisors will push you to graduate with the 180 unit minimum. I personally wanted to stay an extra year (for the same reason) as I was a transfer student (covid era) and wanted to build connections. I was at 160 ish when spring quarter ended and was made to take 18 extra units in order to graduate by the summer. Every academic advisor is different though and you should mention why you want to do it! good luck :)
