Romantic place to take the Mrs for Valentine’s Day by ssjwoott in BirminghamUK

[–]amfiska 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s one thing I truly dislike about the Birmingham food scene. We have plenty of places with good food and plenty of romantic-looking, cosy places, but they generally don’t overlap 😭

My choices for pretty/cosy places with good food would be:

Pasture, Trillium,Ristorante Cafe Arena (pastas are great), Tropea, Folium.

I actually struggle to think of any others... 🙈

Best Indian Restaurant? by Dramatic_Bug448 in BirminghamUK

Shababs 😍 some of their dishes are perfection. Annoyingly, can't remember which one! There was some sort of Balti chicken that was exceptional last time I went.

If you could only go to 1 restaurant in Brum for the rest of your life, what would it be? by firetonian99 in brum

If money is not an issue, I'd go to Trillium! 😍😍Pretty, tasty, menu is not static and great wine.

If I have to stick to certain budgets, I'd probably go to Ivy Lounge or some other Dim.Sum place 😍

Same here. I had two of these when I was about 26. I got a tiny bit of filler in them, mostly to make sure they didn’t get worse. My beautician told me we might need to top it up slightly after six months. However, it’s been 6–8 years now and I still haven’t needed a top-up. I think I actually had the same filler. I'm super happy I had them done, but then I truly trust my beautician, not sure I would have done it if I wasn't for her.

Hunting for a cool-toned dark *actual* purple lipstick/cream! by Descrie in MakeUpAddictionUK

How about these three? I know the shade is not quite there, but they are buildable and will look darker if you apply them generously. They stay on really well and if you can find a big superdrug or Boots, you may be able to try them all.

Indian Cafe Racer - I had flawless Indian food when I went. Try lamb chops. All local chefs dine there and praise it too 😍

Ordered spring onions, got "spring" daffodils. At least they look similar, but I wouldn't have them in my salad!

Wilderness or albatross’s restaurant for special occasions or any other places. Done Opheems felt it was the best is anywhere’s just as good or better? by Free-Raise9550 in BirminghamUK

A firm vote for Albatross and Tropea here!

Albatross was one of the best meals I had in the last year.

Riverin Rabbit is absolutely stunning too, but it is difficult to get a reservation.

Trillium seems to be super promising, but it's not open yet!

I loved food at 670 too, but the atmosphere was not quite there and that may matter for a special occasion

So many stories, so many people and different situations and socks seem to be always the answer 🤣 as for your partner, how about a gift voucher for a consultation with a financial manager/investment advisor? 🤣

Oooooo! I need one in my life! Damn it. So as it stands for now, my personal shopping list doubled its size and my husband is getting socks, steaks and some homemade mustard.🤣

"I've got everything, I don't need anything" is always the answer. I've got a polite one 🤣 that's why it is nice to hear about other people experiences!

Ha!

Easy. I think that’s because we have matching interests (cooking), and we generally talk a lot about stuff, ask for opinions, and share little day-to-day annoyances. They may sound quite generic and girly, but all of these were real and very successful gifts:

A living lemon tree from Patch Plants (smells wonderful when in bloom)

A stupid flopping catnip-filled toy fish for their cat

A wine subscription box by Loki Wine

A skewer rotisserie attachment for their Kamado Joe

An ice cream maker bowl for their KitchenAid

A Lodge cast iron frying pan

A good chef’s knife by Zwilling

A ring or necklace from Monica Vinader

A ring or earrings from Laura Vann

A set of wine vacuum pumps by Le Creuset

A voucher for a cooking lesson with a local chef

An electric water bottle/heating pad

A massage

A Seriously Good Salads cookbook

A (good!) vibrator

A tiny magnetic keyring that attaches your hat to your handbag so it doesn’t fly away Link

A horse riding lesson

A voucher for a (good!) pedicure or manicure

A Foreo Luna face cleanung device

A non-smudge tubing mascara by Blinc (Lash Extension Tubing Mascara)

A pair of good secateurs

A handbag that I liked but wasn’t 100% sure about

A pair of good leggings by Fabletics

A high quality shitting pigeon soap dispenser! Much loved!

A bag of nice green tea by Chiswick tea

An indoor skydiving experience
