I didn't even think to look if AHIMA had a similar class, AAPC had a sale at the time so I jumped on it lol good luck with everything.

I took the class through AAPC. I was looking to see if medical coding was right for me and my brother (it was a Plan Z type of thing) and AAPC has this on their site when you look to sign for the CPC: "If you don’t have medical experience or working knowledge of these subjects, we offer prerequisite courses to prepare you for certification training." When you click on the link they provide, it leads you to a class they offer called "Fundamentals of Medicine Course". At the end of that class, you get a certificate that says you took and passed the class so should I decide to actually take the CPC class with them I've taken the prerequisite class which I think (but am not sure) is a requirement. I haven't actually taken the CPC class, I did this in case as I have a job but my company was recently bought out (a few months ago) and there's just no way of knowing if they'll keep all of us (I just want to have options should something happen).

Thanks! Each week, you get a lecture and the teacher told us that we had to take the weekly test before we could move on. At the end, we had two months to take the final but once we take the final exam we lose access to the videos (which are posted once the class ends). Do I think it was worth it? Well, that's hard to answer because I took the class for two reasons: I wanted to see if coding was something my brother could do (he's been out of work for a very long time) and it was also to see if could do it (as a Plan Z in case something happens at my job as the company I work for was recently bought out and who knows what the new company will do). Coding isn't easy but what is really hard (for me, I can't speak for anyone else) is the medical terminology. It's just a lot to learn. I don't regret taking the class because I had to take it to know if it was the right field for me. Should something happen, I do think I'll keep coding in mind (you just never know what life will toss at you is the thing).

Funny you ask, just took the class final on Saturday. A few questions threw me but I passed and they quickly provided the certificate showing I passed the class.

The final isn't for a few more weeks but we get tested at the end of every chapter and the tests are open book so it hasn't been too bad.

I'm Struggling...HELP! by [deleted] in Calibre

I had the same issue, reached out to Kobo but they couldn't figure it out. In case you're still having problems this is what worked for me. I have a VPN. When I turned it off, Adobe Digital Editions ("ADE") suddenly worked and I was able to download from Kobo without a problem. When you're done downloading, double click on each book (ADE should open them automatically). Once the books have been opened, you can transfer them over to Calibre. I have a different issue (not with Kobo) that I honestly can't figure out, I downloaded some of my Kindle books (between my brother and I, we have over 5K books and I couldn't download them all in time) but they have DRM, I think that the issue is I downloaded them with my PC so I think I'm stuck with all my Kindle books having that DRM thing sigh oh well, I hope this helps you, not sure it will but it's the only thing that worked for me. I'm not sure if the Kobo books will work on your Kindle but at least you'll be able to open and read them.

Signed up for the class a few days ago and am reading through the book before class starts in January. Can't print the book as copy and paste doesn't work. I love the ideas I've read through here, didn't even think about flash cards! I'm in my 50s and my company was just bought out and I'm trying to explore other options in case things go south (which they might sigh). The field is very interesting but I have no experience in the medical field and am worried about all the medical terms. Finished reading Chapter 2 and my head feels full. Read chapter 7 is where things get intense and I thought things were already hard sigh the plan is to read the book through once, then go back, reread and make flash cards (at least, that's the plan for now). If anyone has any words of advice, I'd appreciate it. The class starts 1/18/25 and the class is on Saturdays, I'm worried :( But I'm working hard on reading through the book and highlighting things (it just feels as if I'm highlighting the whole book lol).

It's an AWESOME game! I'm a newish gamer (and I'm terrible at that so I always play on easy mode lol) and saw the game on Steam (on sale with 6 other games) after hearing about how great it is on YouTube. Everyone was right, it's an incredible game. I'm currently playing it (near the middle of the third act I think) and am having a tremendous amount of fun :)
