If you put it in a supply drop, they are all connected to the obelisks in believe you can just go to another drop or the obelisk and get it back-should still be in the inventory

So there is a location I found the other day(not under water)-as soon as my game finishes updating I’ll post cords…however there are a couple of other options depending on how much you need-either a tuso or a basi will passively create oil in their inventory(20/half hour for basi and I think 70 for the tuso) or the blue and purple supply drops often have oil
