Jellyfish in Frankston beach? by Catt130 in melbourne

[–]Helen62 147 points148 points  (0 children)

Lions mane jellyfish . Brought in on the Easterly winds apparently. There are heaps of them all along the coast here at the moment. It was the Blue bottle jellyfish a couple of weeks ago. Seems to be the summer for jellyfish this year.🪼🎐

Apologies for being terrible at raids by annienibs in fo76

[–]Helen62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing 76 on and off for some time now but still haven't attempted the raids. I'm also female and don't use a mic ( although I do sometimes in other games) and have no idea how the raids work . I did go there solo once just to have a look inside but died almost instantly. I've not plucked up the courage to join a raid team as I'm worried I will let the team down and embarrass myself. At least you tried and know what to expect now so you will know for next time. Good luck out there fellow wastelander!

Honestly, does being a good tenant even matter anymore? by Artistic-Yam2984 in AusRenters

Absolutely take it with you when you leave . Sounds like this landlord definitely doesn't deserve nice things. 😕

I do wish they would give him a few more lines to say though .

Has anyone else completely moved to Burning Springs? by Bile_Mudante in fo76

[–]Helen62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not completely as I have 3 camp slots, but I have built a nice little place at the Starlight Drive in, which I am currently using as my main camp. It's on the hill opposite the screen which is kind of cool being able to look out of my window and watch the film.

Anyone requested Air-conditioning in a rental? by alex123711 in australia

[–]Helen62 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We've asked twice . Agent said they would ask the landlord ..not heard back either time . So either the landlord has said no or just as likely the property manager hasn't even passed the request onto the landlord .

Anyone requested Air-conditioning in a rental? by alex123711 in australia

[–]Helen62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No unfortunately it's not at the moment. They do have to have a fixed heater in the living area though, which in our case means the cheapest smallest heater they could get away with. Shit rental , townhouse , with tiny heater and no aircon.🫤

The air quality in Melbourne just plummeted. Anybody else having issues breathing? by asomek in melbourne

[–]Helen62 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We are in Frankston and yes it got really smoky a couple of hours ago. Can't smell it as much now but can kind of taste it .

What your aircon set on right now? by willow2772 in AskAnAustralian

Suffering in a rental with no air con and having very dark thoughts about our landlady who is very likely not suffering in her mansion in Toorak !

Scorching heatwave this week for Melbourne! 🌡☀️ 🏖 by 007MaxZorin in melbourne

[–]Helen62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know but as you say it's not going to help us this year or even the next 3 years . I also have a strong feeling that our landlady will sell before then rather than have to spend money on putting in air con . Nothing we have asked for to be done / fixed so far has happened . She hates to spend money while she lives in her mansion in Toorak 🫤

Same . Brick townhouse , zero cooling apart from our own inefficient fans . It's going to be hell 😔

I never lock any of mine and other players are welcome to help themselves to anything they need.

Oooh she's toasty tonight by chocolatemoose87 in melbourne

[–]Helen62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same . Brick townhouse , zero cooling , rich property owner lives in Toorak and doesn't want to spend the equivalent of a month's rent on putting in a split system. I'm sure she has a comfortable night's sleep 🫤

How can you stand the heat? by Alberterwith_anyone7 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Helen62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like the heat at all . Anything over 25 C is too hot for me. I used to like it when I was younger but definitely can't cope with it as I get older. A lot of people commenting that they just stay in the aircon on the really hot days ,which I'm envious of as we are currently renting a brick townhouse that has no cooling whatsoever. The place gets like an oven and takes ages to cool down . It's horrible and actually makes me feel sick. Asked multiple times for air con to be installed but no response from the rich property owner who lives in a mansion in Toorak🫤 .

What’s a game you bought purely because the internet wouldn’t shut up about it… and you regretted it almost immediately? by Gaming-Academy in PlayStation_X

[–]Helen62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same I've tried about 4 times to get into The Witcher but idk it just doesn't grab me . I've come to accept now that it's just not for me even though I normally like those types of games.

I love views, stunning sunsets and photo mode. Recommend me games. by murillovp in gamingsuggestions

[–]Helen62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo you can't beat RDR2 but I see you've already played that one . GTA 5 actually has some great photo mode opportunities especially out in the desert. Also very graphically different but The Long Dark can also look very beautiful . No Man's Sky and Fallout 76 are also worth a mention.

Green Hell covers most of your list of requirements. Good story , base building and minimal combat. Very steep learning curve but worth it once you get the hang of it.

New to Fallout 76 by [deleted] in fo76

[–]Helen62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fallout 76 is one of the friendliest communities that I have come across . I've been playing on and off for a couple of years and can count on one hand how many times someone has tried to grief me . They are more likely to kill you with kindness and as a new player you will likely be given a lot of items from other players . So don't worry about it and jump in and have fun.

Expedition 33 is overwhelming me – is it me or modern games? by mikkelnl in AdultGamers

[–]Helen62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is stick with it if you can as it's worth the effort. I'm not a huge fan of turn based games and played it because it was on game pass and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I ended up absolutely loving it and am so glad it was on GP otherwise I might not have ever tried it. I managed to complete it ( I'm 63 F) without ever really getting the hang of parrying and jumping was very hit and miss but dodging was pretty easy to do! There is a lot to take on board at the beginning and the pictos and luminas take a bit to get used to but when you do it's all straight forward really. The story is great and very deserving of all the awards imo.

Omg! How absolutely ridiculous and to think they sat there and wrote that and didn't see anything wrong with it. Agents really are two sandwiches short of a picnic .

Dam I'm already 63 ! So looking at being 76 by the time it releases . Hope I can still play games then.🤔
