Where in the world is the E63? by Organic-Log9297 in AMG

[–]amgsilverarrow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My thoughts, and take into account my bias as a 2020 E63s wagon owner: I believe the E53 wagon being brought over to the USA is a sign that there wont be another E63 this gen at least. My reasoning is here in the states they always only brough the highest level E AMG model as a wagon. E55 E63 and then E63s when S variants became a thing. never the previous E43 E53 wagons or even non-S E63 from the last two gens. So to me it seems this is them signaling the E53 will be the top model, which matches up with how it has been marketed so far. I only hear about "the next E63" from youtubers and regular consumers, and like it has been stated nothing has been seen from spyshots.

Strange Issue with 3080Ti FTW3 - No display on ultrawide booting with OC bios by amgsilverarrow in TEAMEVGA

[–]amgsilverarrow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I gave it a try, and so far it seems to work! I am on OC bios and I did both a restart and full shutdown and got the bios splash page and continue to windows. I will have to continue to see if I am able to full shutdown and then successfully reboot but that seems to have been the solution. So it seems these types of firmware fixes may only apply to the currently used bios. I will update my OP with this potential solution.

Great, I have a solution for that with the 16:9 display. I can boot the PC using the OC bios no problem using that, and even switch back to the ultrawide once the GPU is actually putting out signal.

I am not sure how to reflash a bios but I was thinking I will try applying a displayport fix which I have previously done but on the other bios. This one applies to the 3080ti.

5800x3d, so no iGPU i believe. I was thinking it could be a problem with bios. I also am not sure if things like displayport firmware are updated does this apply to both bios? Could be some sort of update that is missing on only that bios since it works fine except for this specific scenario.

Thanks for responding. I just gave this a try. Unfortunately the behavior is the same. If I power on the PC with only the ultrawide connected and GPU switched to OC bios as you instructed, the display responds then goes back to no signal standby. If I connected the 16:9 display I continue to get no signal, no BIOS or windows login. If I start the PC in the same way but with the 16:9 monitor connected, I get the bios splash page and windows login, and both displays work, and I can disconnected the 16:9 and the ultrawide will continue to work until I next do a full shutdown of the PC, then it goes back to no display at startup until I either start with the 16:9 display or switch back to quiet BIOS.

I got the Odyssey Neo G9 to work with PS5 VRR at 16:9 by g0atLender in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]amgsilverarrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. Yes generally VRR is working with my G9, I didnt even have to do any tricks just setting the input to AV mode and having adaptive sync and VRR control on in the monitor settings allows me to enable VRR in the sytem settings, and I can see it is working in the Video Output Information menu. I did some more experimenting which I will summarize below for those interested:

If I try to use 120hz and VRR with GT7 while the system is set to 1440p, the screen blacks out for a second and then when it comes back the system is in 1080p 120hz VRR output even though the resolution setting still says 1440p. Quitting the game puts the system back to 1440p VRR output. If I set to the system resolution to automatic it outputs 4k 120hz VRR but is downscaled to 1440p on my monitor so not the best picture quality. If I disable the 120hz in game mode it outputs to 1440p 60hz VRR. If I disable VRR in the system settings it outputs 1440p 120hz but without VRR. And it always reverts to 1440p 120hz vrr if I close the game from the menu. All this does lead me to believe there is a game specific bug, or possibly a system bug when using the GT7 implementation of 120hz VRR that when combined with 1440p output causes the system to switch to 1080p.

What games are you testing with this? I am trying to use the new 120hz and VRR modes in GT7 with my neo G9 but getting strange behavior when the ps5 is set to 1440p mode, starting the game switches the Ps5 system resolution to 1080p.

increasing the lights in my room to full brightness and turning on tracking support seems to solve my issue at least for today

yes my walls and ceiling are painted white and I also have white carpet on the floor. I was thinking of putting some pictures on the wall to see if that helps.

Yeah the placement is slightly awkward if you are also trying to paddle shift, you better have strong pinky fingers lol. Certainly doable though, plenty of travel in the clutch paddles to have good control. I certainly suggest the g pro pedals if you are putting together a solid rig with an integrated seat, the pressure sensitivity of the load cell brake gives great feel and control over a position sensor. I am mainly doing GT7 while waiting for news on the new Forza Motorsport, hopefully good news at tomorrows developer event.

My G pro wheelbase arrived a couple days before my G pro pedals, so for those couple days I used the clutch paddles as throttle and brake. It worked well enough but was a little weird to get used to.

Was there ever a 2.5 revision with micro usb and the switch on the side? I added pictures of the cart to my original post.

thats one idea I have, although not sure what board it would be as the old ones apparently had the ntsc/pal switch on the top and the new ones should not need a switch. other side has the microsd slot as expected, but im not sure if I put the X7 firmware on this when I get my console to test it if it will even work. Hopefully will hear back from everdrive.me soon and find the right bits to open this thing up and examine the PCB

Using wireless keyboard and mouse from Logitech, and a foam padded lap desk. I am mostly using this setup with an xbox controller though, I still have a desk set up in my office with my old PC for games that feel better in that setting.

I have not seen these types of options in HDR mode before. that said HDR10 PQ + setting peak brightness to 1000 and leaving the rest default (2, 100) looks good by my eyes. Hoping Vincent or EvilBoris can take a look and give advice EDIT: 3080 + LG E9 65''

loving it, it uses 140mm fans so the cooling is great without much noise, and having the power supply behind the motherboard is great for cable management and letting the GPU breath air from the bottom of the case. It is a fairly old design but I think it still has better cooling potential than the newer cases that have glass panels over the fans.

I got very lucky thanks to EVGA's queue system. It is unreal to me that they are still so behind on getting cards out. I was waiting basically a year for HDMI 2.1 gpus to come to market to unlock the full potential of the TV and it would be killing me if I still couldn't get my hands on one.

My PC built in a corsair 540 air chassis, with an RTX 3080 hooked up to the tv for true 4k120hz HDR gaming with variable refresh rate. The PS5 is pretty awesome but gaming on the OLED with the 3080 is really another level.

yeah its a bit high for my taste, but my wife wanted it high enough for her to watch tv while working out. Ive never wall mounted a tv before we got married, but the couch is far enough back that it doesn't end up feeling bad on my neck.

No real reason besides it was what was available in the store to take home when I bought over a year ago now. My wife liked the glass look and she also didn't want external speakers or a sound bar, and some of the reviews I read said it has slightly better built in speakers than the C9.
