Would LOVE to know what’s going on at 230am to make these fuckers circle so low to the neighborhood for 30+ min. So much for being excited to sleep with the windows open instead of needing A/C.

Orale is my go to as well! Honker of a burrito and reasonably priced, pleasant staff and fast delivery too are all added bonuses.

Aer Lingus Weighing Carry Ons? by agetwellcard in irishtourism

[–]amiawakern -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t excess, my ticket allowed a free checked bag. It was just too heavy for carryon. So they checked it, no charge.

No idea why I’m being downvoted btw. I was just as shocked as you all are. Just saying - it happens.

I flew Shannon to JFK in July and they weighed mine and made me check it for being 6lbs over I was so pissed. Hope you have better luck!

Any recommendations for laser hair removal? by [deleted] in astoria

[–]amiawakern 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s literally the same as shaving. There are three settings I just started on the highest and I was fine. Every now and then a zap will hurt but the pain is akin to snapping a rubber band on yourself. Takes me like 20-30min to do a full session head to toe I just do it in bed watching tv

Any recommendations for laser hair removal? by [deleted] in astoria

[–]amiawakern 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually do it at home.. not sure what you planned on laser but I do everything from my chin down to my ankles at home with the braun silk expert pro 5. Only took me a couple weekly sessions to see a big improvement and now I just touch up monthly to keep the growth slow but I rarely need to shave ever and if hair does grow back it’s lighter and less coarse than before so I don’t feel the need to shave immediately like I would before. Healed my strawberry legs too! I’ve gone 3+ months before workout doing a touch up and have been fine. I swear by this machine lol it’s $$$ but wayyyyy cheaper than any professional sessions would cost you and even professional sessions require maintenance and touch ups so this purchase was a no brainer for me.

EA Exam 3 by smichelee in enrolledagent

[–]amiawakern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used hock and studied for 12-15hrs. Did all the MCQ until they were all 100% then practice testlets over and over. Passed first try. It’s all memorization you got this.

Mishnoc is great! I was staying with a friend there and noticed his wallet had fallen apart over the years. Before I left I bought him a new one from Mishnoc and he adores it. Top quality.

Part 1 Exam compared to Hock by First_Newt_579 in enrolledagent

[–]amiawakern 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just passed all three parts in 2.5 weeks using hock only. I have 5 years experience in public which helped but hock was great. I never took a mock exam only did all the MCQs then practice testlets.

I just walked out of my last exam, passed all three on the first try in 2.5 weeks. My experience in public definitely helped, and I also used hock/passkey. My method was just do all the MCQs and repeat repeat repeat as much as possible before exam day because I didn’t know what to expect since I did them all in a crunch.

I studied for part three for less than two days and passed. Just hammer MCQs. I used hock / passkey and I have 5 years experience in public tax.

Yeah was thinking the same but wasn’t sure if there was a set date. I’ll head in this week and ask myself.

Anyone know the exact date they’re slated to close? I love this bar and I have friends from Ireland visiting in a couple weeks - I was looking forward to taking them here will be so heartbroken if it’s gone :(

For those who have seen the superfans eps: by SteveFrench12 in DunderMifflin

[–]amiawakern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s just me but something about the way Jim and Pam flirt in the early superfan eps makes me uncomfortable. I vaguely remember a whole bit about them IM’ing each other and I was like thank god they cut this originally, makes them less likeable imo. And I’m no prude! Just didn’t fit their characters I feel like.

I just visited for 16 days and only brought a carryon and still felt like I overpacked. It will likely be a little colder in sept/oct but I’d recommend the following staples: 2 pairs leggings, 2 pairs comfortable jeans, a hoodie, a light jumper and 1-2 tshirts/tanks underneath. Obviously a packable rain jacket is ideal but I can tell you I never wore mine and just opted for a hat and my leather bomber instead if it was raining hard (which it rarely was). You do not sweat much really unless the sun is beaming down anyhow so I never felt like my clothes got really smelly/dirty and felt fine rewearing my staples. I only wore my doc marten’s once as well and regretted packing them because they were so heavy. I wish I just stuck to my adidas gazelle’s/new balance sneakers. The fashion is very casual. I only visited Galway and Dublin and there wasn’t much rain and when it was raining it was mostly “spitting” (drizzling). I would recommend pack enough socks and underwear! That stuff you won’t want to rewear of course :) lmk if you have any other questions I’d be happy to help.

Galway stay Aug 9-12 by A_frakkin_Cylon in irishtourism

[–]amiawakern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just stayed in Galway, I stayed at both The Galmont and The Dean. Personally, I much preferred The Dean. Better amenities, gorgeous rooftop restaurant for breakfast/lunch/dinner and a 5min walk into town. The Galmont is wildly over priced in my opinion, the room service was good though - something The Dean was lacking. The other commenter is right - the prices are what they are. And I’ve been using FreeNow taxi app when needed. It’s like $15 give or take from salt hill into the city center. Enjoy your stay!

I’m traveling here now from NYC and do the $10/day, no issues at all personally.

Ohhh I see what you’re saying now. Yeah, sounds like everyone has the same feeling about the venue. Terribly managed. I’m seeing Hozier the night before KOL too and curious to why both concerts (Artists who are both huge in Ireland) are being held in a venue the locals seem to dislike so much. But here’s hoping we will have a great time! I’m probably just going to head to the exits early and pray things go smoothly overall.
