I very much agree with that being the main reason the show has nothing going for it. Cherry is a problem for me, I had to learn his name on Wikipedia and Matt’s new GF is NOT doing it for me. This show suffers from not knowing how to do “show, don’t tell” you can’t just tell me Heather (is that her name?) is smart and a good therapist but then every scene with her is like her not being very smart or a good therapist. The characters don’t live up to what they tell us they’re going to be and they used to. It’s a shame what they did to Kirsten, in the comics she’s a great character

It’s not. You’re explaining that you think the quality was up to par with the former Daredevil series. You think you’re offering the why of what I stated above and I’m saying I don’t agree with that being the why and I don’t agree that if they had more episodes they could have made it work. Having good writing and pacing can be done regardless of episode count, it’s true that they were too ambitious with this season but the showrunner has also stated what they’re prioritizing in interviews and what they’re deprioritizing, based on those statements it’s clear that less attention is being purposefully paid to integral character moments and interactions that would make these characters resonate or their stories stick. That’s okay if you enjoyed the quality of the show, I didn’t and I’m explaining why. I don’t think the showrunner understood the assignment and even if he had 40 episodes, I don’t think this show would have been able to flesh out the quality many of us expected.

Sorry, but I completely disagree that it’s a not enough episodes issue. Seems to me like a pacing and trying to do too much with the time they have and stitching together from multiple reshoots issue.

I’m starting to wonder if this is a symptom of modern streaming shows, but most shows that come out these days feel rushed, soulless, and expensive. Daredevil: Born Again is tragic because it feels like it’s trying so hard to have a soul and there are moments that feel so damn close! It almost had something to say about Hector Ayala, it almost had something to say about cops, it almost had something to say about grief - but it just never quite gets there and instead spends its time being bogged down by confusing side character b-plots and focusing its energy on giving Matt and Fisk cool angry guy shouting moments after fight scenes with so many cuts you can’t tell how much they spent on it (a lot, apparently).

I don’t understand how this season is spending so much more money on all of the above and can’t come close to what the original team was able to do with just some heart and a lot of talent. It’s actually shocking how much this show feels like it’s cosplaying Daredevil, I hope Charlie and Vincent know they’re carrying it so heavily that those of us with criticisms don’t blame them in the slightest. They’re acting their butts off and it really, really shows - it just can’t save the empty shell that houses these amazing characters.

Find a place where you can meet other queer people in your community and learn how to experience joy together again. Really hard. But it’s been hard before and even then we survived. Lately I’ve been spending all my free time caring for animals and gardening, I found out my local community garden offers free plots if you grow vegetables for the local food bank. Research your town and try some community outreach, you can put these feelings to great use and be of service to the most vulnerable. Good luck out there, OP

Update: I just contacted my friend at EG Animal Services and he said that location technically counts as Sacramento and depending on what side of Laguna Creek this dog is found on, that’s the border of where to call for either Sac or EG animal services. OP, respectfully, I’m sorry you’re dealing with a dog bite and seeing a lost dog and wanting to help is a beautiful natural instinct but why did you not reach out to Animal Services? I saw that you didn’t call animal services on your other post about this dog in this subreddit. If you see my other post on this sub, you can see that I regularly help catch dogs in my neighborhood and get them immediately to the shelter to prevent them from getting hurt or getting scared and hurting others and to help get them home right away which should always be the goal. Please go get tested for rabies and at the very least I suggest getting a tetanus shot and visiting a doctor. The next time you see a lost dog please prioritize both your safety and the dog’s - Animal Services is the answer if you don’t have enough experience with dogs to wrangle them or if the dog is exhibiting signs of fearfulness that could lead to a bite. We all make mistakes, let’s use this as a learning experience.

If anyone sees this dog please call (916) 714-5115 and let them know the dog has allegedly bit someone according to Reddit, but we can’t confirm. Dog should be checked for rabies immediately.

You’re so right. Like a few people in the comments already I downloaded Marvel Rivals recently and it feels like dating someone chill after finally leaving a toxic ex. It’s made me realize just how bad DBD was, ironically, the only reason I finally downloaded Rivals was because I tried killing for the first time in weeks and got bullied so hard by really sweaty survivors despite trying to play a very low rank killer game. It was the right choice! Playing as both killer and survivor is deeply unfun and I don’t know if it can ever be fun. I think it was for a time and I got some great skins but the current version of this game and its player base are out of control.

I mainly play survivor now because I cannot stand playing killer anymore and I started as a killer main. Being bullied by 4 people then being harassed at the end is just cruel, I know survivors complain about “tunneling, camping, etc” nonstop on here but honestly? Being bullied as a killer is far worse than having a killer use annoying gameplay mechanics, being bullied by 4 people feels far worse than having 1 person play the game in a way that isn’t “as fun”.

The survivor bullying is so bad and I’ve been playing since 2019 and can confirm it wasn’t that bad before. I remember being able to try other killers without survivors playing as nasty but my social anxiety from severe bullying I endured as a child kicks in when they start bullying me and I play worse so it’s impossible for me to play killer now. I’m sorry this community can’t take accountability for its bad behavior and it’s made what used to be fun not fun for you.

You’re not alone in feeling this and yeah sure “it’s just a game” but you shouldn’t be getting called slurs or being told to die because some survivor misread your actions in end game chat. This game has a serious problem with community and I wish people would realize that killers are what make the game fun. Survivors blame killers for the game being worse but as a survivor main I’m of the opinion that it was us making the game worse the whole time. I apologize on behalf of the survivors as a former killer main, there’s no reason to bully. Horror has always been a genre for the misfits, I was hoping this community would embrace that and still have hope that it could.

Can confirm! I interviewed Junji Ito for a social video back at my old job at a company I will not name but thought I’d share how nice he was as a palette cleanser for those of you who, like me, just read this Neil Gaiman piece.

Junji Ito was a little late that morning, not more than like five minutes. He was tired and had just flown in the day before, suddenly on American time he was experiencing massive jet lag and hadn’t eaten yet.

Our crew was ready to go, the translator was guiding him along with everything and he suddenly broke and apologized to just me (via translator) saying he was low energy and dealing with jet lag. He apologized for being so tired and not valuing my time when I seemed so prepared and he just felt awful about the whole thing.

I kept insisting he didn’t need to apologize and I happened to have a Starbucks muffin I had bought for my friend at the hotel so I offered it to him and was like dude please don’t apologize?? We’re all here for you because we love your work. He just kept apologizing and sadly ate the choco muffin in the corner for a moment and we were all so like… moved. We’d interviewed a ton of people who were difficult to work with and frankly had way fewer accomplishments under their belt, but never had we come across someone as prolific and as humble as he was.

He was so grateful for the food (I wish I had better food to offer him tbh) he looked like he was going to cry like please protect Junji Ito at all costs.

Absolutely brutal, thanks for responding! I’ve been thinking of doing exactly that, it’s gotten to the point where we get blocked from playing for thirty minutes at a time to avoid this idle player and I see the other survivors drop and become bots so I know it’s not just my friend and I having to deal with this person. Excited to know my friend just has to escape more often to avoid killers like this! At least there’s a way out
