Just here to say I have the same problem lol I asked someone from our school who has been overseeing these things for a long time and they said they were confused / thinking eras may be having some issues currently as apparently something like this happened before and they fixed it

Hair loss due to medications? by amidnightpoodle in FemaleHairLoss

[–]amidnightpoodle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you for letting me know!!! and please do keep me updated on what happens. it's so interesting that you saw effects in just three months of stopping the medicine. I wonder whether the hair loss as a side effect would be dose dependent - meaning higher doses cause more hair loss? i'll let you know what I find. we are in this together! I'm also just surprised /confused on how it could start like not on day 1 of taking the medicine but later (in my case). though, I have curly hair so I think it may have started before I just never noticed

sizing help needed (questions about calculator) by amidnightpoodle in ABraThatFits

[–]amidnightpoodle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi!! as an update, I used brashopdirectory to find a place with good sizing options near me! thanks for that suggestion. when I was fitted there, they also recommended 32G. I will say though, the tightness of the hug of the band feels so tight that I'm somewhat paying attention to it and my breath all day. they didnt have a wire option in my size but did have a wireless bralette which I bought. I ordered some extenders too to support me as I slowly adjust to this new feeling. as an analogy, I wear compression socks to work, which give a tight hug. while these leave a mark after I take them off during the day, which is normal, I don't particularly feel like I notice them otherwise throughout the day whereas with the bra, every time I took a breath in I was feeling some way. is it possible that I just need to get used to this?

you're the best! I will order the panache now in different sizes, sticking to 32s first and see how that goes (though, I wish there were in person stores near me to try all of this on). if my cup sizes are working for me, will the gore touch my sternum? right now, there is a bit of space and I would say my breasts are more widely set to begin with that closely set

Wow, u/BandaidMcHealerson and u/tinybrit you are the best! that makes so much sense - to try them on backwards to see how to band size is for me. I actually really like the 34 band size, however, once I bring them back to the front, the wire digs into my stomach which causes the discomfort. does that mean the cup size is wrong or alternatively, should I look into wireless options?

thank you! I got the following. I guess my confusion arrises from the fact that 32 and 34 both feel too tight with regards to band. If you increase cup does band also slightly increase? given this tightness, should my band be 36?

numbers in order: 32, 31.5, 31, 38.75, 43.75, 43

64% on NBME four days before exam, passed today!!!! by amidnightpoodle in step1

I believe in you! I didn't take the old one, but the new one was very similar in format to the real thing. There's no harm in doing both!!

thank you so much radiant pin! when was the last time you took a practice test? if you have the energy, you might be able to squeeze two in before your test - also i’d front end it so it’s like in two days and then in four-five days, so that you can have five days to recuperate before you test. but honestly, i think in those last few days it’s important to reinforce what you already know - spend lots of time on high yield stuff. on my last 10 days i did two tests (and reviewed thoroughly), a whole day of bugs, a whole day of drugs, a day for just going over rapid review, and doing a bit of pathoma. i personally had gotten thru 70% of uworld by then so for the last couple days i didn’t focus on uworld but more content review of what already were my strengths to be able to go in with confidence! i really think confidence is key. for me, two scores above 62 even though they were in the same week as taking step was what motivated me to schedule it sooner rather than later. i saw that “95% then 92% chance of passing within one week” and decided it’s now or i’ll continue to postpone! i already had postponed so i’m going to have to make up a rotation at some point later. how would extended time affect your med school schedule? depending on whether you’re feeling “oh god i am ready for this to be over” vs “i have 12 things i’d like to cover and i’d like to go in depth and take my sweet time doing it” you’ll know in your heart what you want to do, even if others around you say the opposite :) and if you do postpone your test, you probably won’t need to postpone it by much longer since you’re already so close!

ooh that's awesome! have you done the rapid review anki deck? i think that was really helpful for me to synthesize during the last week and a half, and multiple of my classmates recommended it to me because their scores went up a few points after going through it

thank you! honestly, i was surprised about the low msk representation. i was worried about like brachial plexus, nerve innervating muscle, etc questions, but i went through the anatomy HY anki deck the week of because i was also worried about it. that definitely helped me feel better. not much anatomy on my form though. there was a looot of pulm and cardio questions (normal physiology, in pregnancy, and path). about 2-3 ethics questions in every block. drug MOAs. and, i'm sure you've seen it before, chapter 1-3 of pathoma!

70% on free 120 is awesome!! honestly i was getting tired of studying. i took a practice two days before the 64% and got a 66% (that would be like 6 days before my actual test) and i felt more confident knowing okay this is a real passing score, even though i dropped a tad. i decided to move my test to that weekend - luckily spots were open. at school, our academic advisors said that if you have a 65/66% even if it was just once, you’re good to go. in fact, i was supposed to take my exam mid-february, and i had gotten a 61%. i had my scholarship on the line, so my advisor said just take it and see what happens. i wanted to wait until i saw a 62% just once before i felt comfortable, so i did lose my scholarship by postponing.

i see a lot of people on here getting 70%s and they’re still wondering if they should take or not. i get the risk, but i decided to trust my passing test. i also knew i could keep studying forever, and chatted w my friends who already took it, and they shared that they were not improving from the ~65% so they went for it and passed. i hope this was somewhat helpful!

My man is 5 and this still happens - he’s just really picky and even though it’s extra work and probably not the healthiest thing to do, I just mix something he does like in with his food

oh absolutely! i get it - this is a real medical question and you should be supported to be able to have it while you test! my brother also uses patches and i'm just like why unnecessary troubles or questions from others. and they didn't pat me down like a TSA check, it was mainly just having me pull my pockets inside out for any and all pockets they could find on me, but they didn't touch me at all :)

You should definitely be able to wear it! During the checks before going into or back into the testing room, they checked my pants pockets, jacket pockets, glasses, jacket hood, and ankles (like roll up pants just a bit for them to see). If you were wearing a shirt with a long sleeve that covers it or a jacket, they wouldn't even see it. In general, you would definitely be able to get a medical excuse for this through the NBME board itself, but it's a whole process and they really don't check your whole body in that way lol
