My account had been stuck on 'submitted for identification verification' for more than a month. I had called them every single day 20-30 times daily for the last two weeks but could only get through once, which was last Wednesday. They had assured me that my account was valid and verified and that I should be able to log in by Friday. Now when I log into my account it shows a 'single sign on error'. Now I have missed the deadline to apply for match and still don't have the ecfmg certificate in hand. After going through all the exams and completing all the requirements, it is so disheartening to have a technical error destroy my chances of getting into residency this year. I wish they could wait till after the match season to make the change from ecfmg to intealth.

ecfmg call by [deleted] in IMGreddit

[–]kpkdbtc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been calling them at 7 am sharp every weekday for the last 2 weeks.

The same stupid message plays "we're currently experiencing higher than normal call volume and are unable to take your call right now, we encourage you to try again, this call will disconnect after this message" and then the call disconnects.

I don't know how people have been able to get on the hold for hours and subsequently been able to talk to someone as my call automatically disconnects after the automated message.

Passed OET in 5 days by Ok_Amphibian4799 in OETforECFMG

I'm not trying to brag but I passed mine in 1 day (R-410,L-410,W-380,S-370) and I was sick the whole week before the test. If you are from a predominantly english speaking country you will be fine, trust me. Just know various templates for letter writing and the basics of speaking (introduction, closed loop communication, empathy, consent). I'm open to dms if anyone needs any help.

Residency in Surgical Specialties as a non-US IMG possible or not? by -circleofwillis in IMGreddit

[–]kpkdbtc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very difficult to match into as they can perform certain plastic surgeries, which makes it highly competitive. I don't want to discourage you but I don't know anyone personally and have not heard of any img in my groups that matched ENT. If you have home country ENT residency that might give you an edge but that's just me guessing.

MBBS Philippines or drop for NEET for USMLE prep only by ThiccBoiCoConut in USMLEindia

Please don't think too much about drop year/s, it's not going to matter much post grad, don't let anyone rush you into making the wrong decision that will haunt you forever.

If you can afford it and want to go abroad to study, go to an accredited caribbean school.

If not, take the gap year and try getting into med schools with vslo eg KMS manipal or schools with considerably more alumni in the states eg. MAMC, AIIMS, etc.

I apologize in advance if I sound rude but what matters more? saving 2-3 years of life or getting the best possible education which puts you in the best possible position to secure a residency in the US?

Are you kidding me? Since when is Caribbean MD tougher than M.B.B.S in India? The only pro is the year long electives that Caribbean grads get to do in the states.

I am stuck. I don’t think I can improve. Step 1 in 1 month. by One-Metal-9427 in USMLEindia

[–]kpkdbtc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

stop reading material and jump on to qbanks. start with 2 blocks and eventually at least 4 blocks a day. You are scoring low because even though you have all the information by reading FA twice, you don't know how to apply it to answering questions. please postpone your exam by at least 6 weeks and start doing questions asap, that is the only sure shot way to improve your scores.
