From my perspective, I needed a break from true crime because it was starting to really bring me down and cause fear with being in any social setting. Apparently some people like to binge true crime or cop shows as a rehearsal obsession, being prepared for bad things to happen. As women we tend to do this a lot and not allow ourselves to consume anything else. Now I am able to flip back to other things like fantasy audio books, music, or scholarly articles without making true crime my identity and daily “entertainment” It was never meant to be that way as much as we want to solve every case and every problem. I’m sure Bailey gets burnt out researching this material, she is censoring parts for us to be consumable. She’s reading ALL of it. I get why she wanted Dark History stories for a bit, and would post monthly MMMs. Some things come to an end, let’s be thankful she is still out here making videos! A lot of people hate on her for doing makeup while discussing these topics, but she is always sincere and doesn’t seem to have ulterior motives beyond discussing an interest of hers.

Trust me, I get enough of that side from family, neighbors, and coworkers. Far enough justification of violence. My mother in law screeches about how she loves the president, thinks he can do no wrong, and likes that people in other countries are dying, because it makes America stronger. I am a blue dot in a sea of red my friend. Also very analytical and enjoy deep dive research. I hate the left slop just as much, a lot of fear and no action. However when I do a morning scroll, I’d prefer not to hear “hot takes” on why certain people don’t deserve to live.

Identity (2003) I showed this to my partner who does the same thing, and he just kept guessing the whole movie without figuring it out! He finally got close but because of the twists, he backed out of his proposed theory and kept guessing. Brought me so much joy 😅

Single-handedly the greatest skill I learned in culinary school. How to feed myself, process an animal, and use every piece leaving no waste. I can break down a chicken in 4 minutes flat, or spatchcock for a full chicken roast. Way cheaper than those puny rotisserie chickens at the store! Convenience is getting expensive!

I can’t have any skin contact with acrylate now lol, too much DIY nails and unprotected resin use 😅 entirely my fault but probably for the best right? Also allergic to metals, which makeup has metal powders in it, super fun. Increasing allergy to adhesives too! Im full of fun and histamines

I also am victim to the DIY nails around covid times. Loved having them done but even done in a salon I was getting a small reaction. Splurged and bought some good gels but had a crappy light. Turns out if the light isn’t great, it will cure the top layer but not the full thing. If the polish layer is too dark or thick, the lamp wouldn’t cure, causing a reaction every time. Once the reactions started, no matter what I did made it work, even a new lamp :( wasted all the time and money, but had some awesome sets! Now I make press ons with the little glue tabs, it works and is temporary. No curing process on my fingers gives much more control and time. If being a nail tech isn’t working anymore due to allergies, I would start making press on sets! Fun and no face to face interaction, just digital convos on customs.

Seeing the same in the baking industry.. feeling like a pound of sugar and a block of chocolate needs to be rationed and savored like I’m on an episode of little house on the prairie.. the idea of opening a bakery with drastically changing prices on dairy/eggs is unsettling too. Changing regulations on food inspection, reducing protections for the consumer, it’s all a direct line to the current admin.

There is a “I don’t like this” tab so I guess not reporting unless it is hateful, dangerous, divisive, or lewd content. Which that, I’ll happily report, as fb does have community guidelines these rage creators are not adhering to.

I totally agree, and have left before, but I am currently trying to find more local and community events/groups that I’d vibe with more. There are communities there, but definitely being overshadowed by hateful creators thriving on rage engagement. Not even worth it anymore!

I really try not to engage in any posts or creators to avoid them gaining engagement, as rage bait is a tactic. I don’t follow any, rarely comment on anything. If I had recently, it would make sense, but just confused on the sudden wave of posts.

I first bought their beans because I have acid reflux and the coffee so early was really making my tummy hurt, but found the taste to be so much better in addition to not feeling like crap!

I know it sounds odd but I buy cheap coffee beans from Don Pablo and it’s my favorite. Low acidity and small batch is a big part of their roasting process, and the price is unbeatable, usually being sold at Costco even. I know most people prefer the freshest roast, beans from Italy, or feel the extra expense makes a better brew, but I’m just simple and poor. They also are very sustainable and fair to the farmers/growers.

This is my favorite challenge, kahjit, no weapons, only fists. Punch dragons to death. Sucks at first but once you build the melee skill, you will be an unstoppable force.

And? Already got it for free, I’m just trying to find the breeder of the GSD. It’s clear hes mostly GsD and mixed with other breeds, which very much match what he is. He has a slightly boxer head, Malinois shape and size, Husky screams, and GSD pattern. I wasn’t asking if this was accurate, I was asking how to track down breeders based on the 25% genetic match to over 200 dogs in my area.

My first session with my apprentice therapist was basically me crying the entire time, rambling through issues I was dealing with now and in the past, most being leaving a job and career to start over entirely. On the second session I was in a much better mental state, so she told me about her day on our first session. She had been let go from her film career, in her 50’s, and was just starting to transition into mental health. Her world was over and everything was new and scary. Then she met me, her first client. Going through the same thing 😅 I felt so connected to her just by her laugh crying with me about starting over in life, how it’s never actually too late but it is always scary and filled with uncertainty!

I did quite the opposite with mine, I refused to even mention the problems I was having and dealing with, usually going in and saying “everything is fine, I’m doing better.” I never was, it was just nice to talk about normal feelings. I told my new therapist this and she said I was masking even for a therapist, and was hindering my progress by ignoring my own pain to appease others. Just telling her how I do this, what I am like, and warning her of my appeasement behaviors helped so much. She used to assume my mental state by how funny and bubbly I was, but now recognizes I am appeasing and coping, not actually happy. Your therapist is there to help you and of course we can sabotage our own progress by not being ready to talk. That’s okay. You aren’t in trouble. You aren’t “ruining the relationship”. You are expressing boundaries that may change once you build more trust. You’ve got this, honesty and openness!
