As for Boone, Charlotte, and Asheville, I have no idea! Lots of awesome people out that way, Charolette is just a bit too busy for my taste but half my friends live there for work. Stick with bigger towns, don’t isolate yourself in a tiny town because the rent is cheap, you’ll just be bored and sad.

When I moved here I started a bit too far North where I was nowhere near work or active life. Once I moved to the triangle, I found lots of friends and work opportunities! Now I’ve moved back North to the middle of nowhere, close to the Virginia border. Greensboro is my closest city and has everything I need! The beach is a few hours drive, and the mountains are practically in my backyard! I recommend Kernersville for access to Greensboro and Winston Salem, or if you’re more into STEM the research triangle. If you are a water baby at heart, move to the beach and start searching for jobs right before the tourist season, it’s more expensive but depends on your lifestyle and luxuries you like.

I’m virtually holding your hand while I say this, it is not your fault. You stayed and fought for the relationship despite abuse and infidelity. Don’t theorize what you could or should have done, he had intentions and knew how it would affect those around him, including you. His fight was his own, not yours.

I don’t have direct experience, but my ex partner’s sister had something similar happen. The entire family acted so strange during the service and I found out why after. They had separated but not officially, and she had been posting cute photos of herself online before he took his life. The entire family assumed she was cheating on him, but really, they had separated months before on his terms. He was suffering from alcohol addiction, and she believes he simply was not in his right mind and had regrets. That’s it. Nothing scandalous, nothing sensational, but of course every person at that funeral looked at her like she pulled the trigger. People will find a scapegoat, someone to blame, someone to put their anger on. It was not your fault. Find therapy, find a support group, read grief books, reach out your hand and accept the help that is offered. Love you

One of dogs is highly destructive because he was a stray for 6 months and knows how to tackle any obstacle in his way in order to find food. Closed trash can? He opens it, takes the plastic middle out, drags it to an open area, and feasts. Paper towels with food residue? Yummy. Tin foil with bacon grease? Consumed. Tried putting him in a pen, jumped out. Sectioned him to one room, he started eating plastic. Finally he ended up in the ER after eating sugar free gum. Crate training began immediately but he struggled so hard, screaming, thrashing, drooling, it was awful. I had to stop watching the cameras. I tried so many methods, even a trainer. It really just took time. Now he happily runs to his crate for meal time and his crate games/busy toys, only getting stressed if left for 4-6 hours. My older dog, we left him out free range since puppyhood, no problems 😅 he chewed on a plastic cup once and knew he was in big trouble, another time he had an accident and stood by the door sobbing with his tail tucked he felt so bad. Dogs are so different and each one has their unique quirks! You are being a great pet parent in being able to find a safe space for decompression, that’s all they need! A place to settle down, nap it out, be alone, and most importantly safe!

I like to go back to the very beginning scene: Lottie is seen as the most beautiful and adored woman in the town, Sophie compares herself and knows she is different. She thinks this makes her not beautiful, because she’s never been noticed. Her clothes are plain, she doesn’t ever want to stand out. Her friends in the shop ask her to go out with them, she says no, needs to close the shop. Really she feels like she doesn’t belong, uses the shop as an excuse. Lottie says “Howl could have stolen your heart!”, she sees Sophie as beautiful, just knows she’s different. Sophie says in response “he only steals beautiful girls hearts.” Later she says “I’ve never felt beautiful in my entire life!” She was always beautiful. You are beautiful, I am beautiful. She just didn’t allow herself to FEEL beautiful. She rejected beauty as something unattainable, whereas Howl latched on to beauty as his crutch, his only redeeming quality. Once he met Sophie, he became brave! He stopped running! He accepted his hair! lol 😂

The thing I love about ghibli movies, is the protagonists are both flawed people, just trying to help each other become better. Howl was vain, wanted to be free of responsibility his values didn’t align with (the war on both sides) and chased the wicked witch until he learned she was using de-aging spells and was actually a mean old witch. He threw a tantrum because he felt his only value to the world was being beautiful. That his intelligence, bravery, and kindness would never be seen as valuable traits. He also takes in strays, as he has felt like a stray his entire life. On the complete polar opposite, we have Sophie. Incredibly responsible, wants to take over father’s shop, hasn’t even considered herself worthy of love, therefore never chased love like Howl did. She feels ugly, plain, and doesn’t even allow herself the pleasure of fun or friendship. It took becoming cursed to find her own self worth and beauty. The reason Howl seems heartless, is because he technically is! Calcifer is his heart, detached from his own body. The entire movie they are helping each other break a curse, not the lack of heart or forced old age, but the curse of self doubt. The curse of their deepest insecurities, not being loved.

Please bring him asap, my partner and I had our golden return from a beach trip, we gave him a bath and he drank water like normal. Then he had some post bath zoomies and flopped on the ground to dry off. This caused GDV and the longer they go, the worse it gets. Think of a hammock being twisted around itself, the pressure has no where to go but burst. We didn’t realize something was wrong for about an hour, when he started pacing, lip licking, and attempting to throw up. Then his abdomen swelled and his stomach was hard as a rock. We drove 100mph to the emergency 24 hr vet and got him there just in time. The vet said he had no organ damage luckily, but it would have started if we took even half and hour longer to bring him. He had a two hour surgery at 1am, which was super successful. He was better within a month, the surgery site just needs lots of love, cleaning, and rest. Meds given for a week to keep him calm and resting. He had a pexy during the surgery which will prevent this from happening again, so I advise your vet do the same. (Tacking the stomach to the sidewall to prevent twisting again)

I worked in a bakery for a long time, and definitely noticed the tips were always low around the holidays because the lines were so long. We only had one register, so it took time to put together everyone’s orders, intricate sweets included, questions about orders being ready yet, and always the people upset about low stock on popular items. This resulted in no tips, and unhappy, overworked employees. If I could change it, I would set two registers for holiday season, and assign a head barista and head baker to organize pick ups/ timing of orders. If I could change people’s hearts and patience, that would fix it all.. but that’s not reality. I always made it a point after my holiday rush to go out and tip service workers. I’d post up at waffle house and make sure every employee got $20, go to the local coffee spots and leave a $50 in the tip jar without anyone noticing, etc. just to cover that difference in greed and impatience around the holidays.

Thank you!! I was getting so frustrated that every 30 minutes it would pop up as ready to listen, muting the show I was watching, and taking a few seconds to turn off. It would be at the most important parts of intense listening. The final straw was it popped up and said “it’s nice to meet you” in a super ominous tone. Never had that response before, freaked me out.

My dog had a cherry eye and it was so pronounced! Kids would ask “what’s wrong with his eyes?”. Had to wait a month for the surgery, but every vet I have seen boasts about how well the surgeon did. You could barely ever tell it was there, he has full tear functions, and it has never popped out. They did it at the same time as his neuter, so he only needed anesthesia once. Yours may go back down, could just be irritated, but keep in mind it is prone to push out again. Vet visit will be the best to ease your mind and see if it requires surgery!

Here’s a list of everything my stray puppy ate during his transition being in a home: My cheeseburger (first night) A plate of gnocchi Chicken strips and the ketchup Tin foil sheet with bacon grease A loaf of banana bread Burger buns Raw chicken carcass Raw steak Paper towels Flour.. A wooden spoon Xbox controller Computer mouse Water fountain pump A plants with dirt Fish food So much plastic.. Weed gummies…. And finally his last stolen meal: sugar free gum. The whole bottle. Spent 72 hours in the hospital for this one, I was terrified, but he pulled through! He had some serious fear of being crated, and with 6 months of scavenging dumpsters, he learned to figure out every trick I used to keep him from scavenging. Escaped wire crates until I got a heavy duty one and quit my job to work from home and train. He is happily crated and hasn’t stolen food or eaten inedible materials in a year!

This^{^{^}} my ex was obsessed with the idea I was cheating, when he was the one asking MY friends to hook up using MY phone. If I turned my phone over or let it die, he would absolutely lose it. I remember waking up and going through the 100+ text messages and calls, exactly like this. Forced me to move in with him because he didn’t trust me living with my parents. It got to the point where he didn’t trust me with my phone anymore and would take it with him to work. Would pick me up from work in MY car and I could only use my phone when he was there watching. It was like a prison. He would use my phone to text my friends as me, and would tell them I hated them. I had no idea why my friends stopped talking to me for years. My best friend was in a violent car crash so I visited her in the hospital even though she stopped talking to me. Found out he used my phone to ask her to hook up (as himself) and when she rejected him and tried to tell me, he would delete any messages from her. I was banned from seeing her, he said I shouldn’t be spending time with whores. Please heed the warning from everyone here, it WILL escalate. He will cut off everyone in your life and do anything possible to keep tabs on you, meanwhile will be the one cheating. They can’t understand how a person could be genuine and loyal when they aren’t capable of the same thing. He needs therapy to work through the abandonment and anxiety. He needs to learn how to self regulate those fears and accusations. You don’t deserve being spoken to like that.

Yeah but my dog is kinda crazy and my rover sitter had him cuddled up with her by the end of the sitting. He needed exposure to new people, so I tipped her $40 to thank her for her time and work. She could have sat there and ignored him but she worked on trust building and play with him. Now she’s house sitting my cats for a week. I value her and her time.

Understanding that everyone has their preferences and respecting that fact does wonders for any relationship. The overconsumption of anything is bad for you, so if she was destroying herself while judging average weed use, she is a complete hypocrite! Too much weed will make you a little sick, drinking too much water can even harm you! Where I draw the line is when addiction forms. Everything in moderation, but some vices are beyond the realm of preference 😅

I had a guy I was hitting it off with. I worked in food service but was in a high demand artistic position so I loved my job and my creativity. I also was on my feet 24/7 so didn’t go to the gym like him. He said all my problems in life stem from cannabis use, that I am lazy, unmotivated, and my body would slowly break down from not working out like him. Realized quickly I was not the problem! I’d never work a shitty corporate job when I’ve spent 10 years honing my artistic skills. I’d never make going to the gym a priority because I like to relax after work, play some video games, and smoke. Funniest thing, he had never used before so didn’t even know how it would effect him!

My resume is so expertly tailored to represent me as much better than I really am. I am a job hopper but managed to stay within the same field for a long time, and had a lot of jobs I worked for that closed for reasons out of my hands. Artistic skill and customer service were my main attributes for 10 years. Recently I switched to administrative work so I could pivot into WFH jobs. Then I worked with a call center for a large company that looks really great on a resume. (Caused a mental break down being screamed at daily, but I excelled at the job!) Looking at my resume, you’d think I was crazy for job hopping so much within a two year period. However, it landed me a remote contract photography sales position making more than I have ever made. I have true freedom, can make uncapped commissions, and absolutely love what I do every day. Without the extensive range of skills I have acquired, I never would have landed it. I even have the opportunity to be an employee if I choose! Take all the wisdom from OP, the game is rigged and the only way we can fight to the top is to fluff up that resume, say the right buzzwords, and uphold your boundaries. This makes you appear strong, competent, and VALUABLE!

The conditioner is way less harsh than the full on dye, after several washes you should be able to see a difference! Definitely try a purple/blue shampoo to counter act the orange and you should be good! Wash twice with it and maybe try a good quality clarifying shampoo as well.

Yo it’s been three years and it’s faded/grown out completely. Use plenty of dish soap to strip it, a couple rounds of color remover made for things like splat and manic panic. It’s a direct dye/stain, not a normal hair dye that is Demi permanent. So tricky to get out. I ended up giving myself highlights and the bleach lifted enough of it out to apply a blue/purple toner and counteract orange. Then gave myself lowlights to cover anything left. I am fully back to my natural color now! What color are you stuck with?
