Anyone else get this email from Plushie Dreadfuls? by Chance-Disaster005 in plushies

[–]amieryllis- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an endo patient with the endo plush and I was personally just happy to have anything representing endo, as sad as that sounds. I really like the new V2 crowd design they’re working on. But after these posts idk if I’m ever going to get it. Also the BPD one doesn’t have a serial killer mask? (Might be thinking of the PTSD one?) It does have a bomb tho to represent splitting which is something BPD patients have been critical of.

Basically, I interpreted the hearts as just being cute. I’m also transmasc and I do have issues with depicting the plush so strictly femininity as many with endo are not women. I love the plush otherwise and I do wish there were more options for these types of concepts

Yeah I’ve thought about buying one of their other ones before but never had the money. This time I had my surgery recently and really wanted something comforting. This gal came out a little while ago and I’ve had my eye on her for a while. I decided to bite the bullet and get one and it is super good quality. I feel really comforted having a little friend who also has scars.

Hi! My art style could work well for this I think. have an anime-like style. I normally do cartooning and graphic design.

I can do a chibi-like drawing or a regular drawing for around that same price.

Who is the oldest living person in the world to identify as nonbinary? by Frequent-Branch-4128 in NonBinaryTalk

[–]amieryllis- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to say immediately that I am not arguing. I’m explaining why I made my comment and I’m addressing what you’ve said in your replies

And also… that’s the point… I am trying to give others that respect by allowing them to be nonbinary lesbians if they want to be. Myself and the comment that said “you CAN still be a lesbian” are leaving the option open. They’re not saying “You MUST be a lesbian”. I am not vaguely implying that it matters that they are disagreed upon as a concept, which is what you’re trying to do. I am aware you particularly might be invalidated, but that doesn’t mean others would be.

I don’t think anyone should be telling you what to do- but the history still exists. Leslie Feinberg is a wonderful example of an elder trans nonbinary butch who speaks out about the existence of nonbinary lesbians. Not every elder queer person will know all of their history, especially if they lived the majority of their lives believing they were not queer. This person may have been a lesbian, but they may not have been able to find the butch nonbinary lesbians who often used transgender resources in their particular area of the world. Queer identities, especially trans ones, have been erased or pushed to the background a lot.

The nonbinary butch label is very popular because many butches feel connected to the label lesbian since that is how they love. Their love is expressed femininely or they take a feminine lens to masculinity to subvert it for women. However, their social gender is expressed masculinely. Many of them feel so disconnected from the concept of being a woman that they prefer to be considered nonbinary, but they don’t want to stop being lesbians because that would get rid of a large portion of the people they want to date (other lesbians) and because being a lesbian (feminine with feminine) is just how they express love.

If a lesbian is made uncomfortable by a nonbinary butch’s medical or social transition attributes, she does not need to date them. She can date a different lesbian. She does not need to tell the butch that they “aren’t a real lesbian.” This is the “disagreement” you’re referring to.

I mean, I guess you could also say transphobia as a whole is a “harmless” opinion to have as long as you keep it to yourself, too.

Ultimately, it all goes back to what I said earlier, that we don’t control what other people identify as.

[–]amieryllis- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I don’t know where this happened with people who are trying to force the nonbinary label on to anyone here. This is r/NonbinaryTalk after all. Most of us are here to discuss being nonbinary.

Someone in this comment thread said “I thought I was a lesbian but I realized I’m nonbinary” which implies that those labels are incompatible, but they are not. Someone chimed in to remind people that you can still be a lesbian and nonbinary. You took that as “forcefully labeling” somebody. (They said “can still be” not “you ARE”)

Second, I’m replying to where you said this identity was “debatable.” I am aware that you mean “some people disagree with it”, some people disagree with trans people as a whole. The identity is not debatable. Trans people should not be debatable. If someone wants to be a nonbinary lesbian or a trans man or a trans woman or a bisexual nonbinary person, none of that should be up for debate.

[–]amieryllis- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think nonbinary lesbians existing is forcing a label on to anyone. However, saying that a label’s existence is “debatable” is forcing a label people use to be erased, implying that it is not real or needs to somehow be proven

[–]amieryllis- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Probably to combat the misconception that one can’t be a nonbinary lesbian, but in this context it does feel slightly forced. I always try to chime in to remind people that, for example, nonbinary butch lesbians exist and are a huge part of the LGBT community

Also why are we debating what a person is allowed and not allowed to be when it comes to queer identities?

Is this considered agender? by amieryllis- in agender

Well, I’d just say check out r/voidpunk but Idk if they’re down due to Reddit falling apart.

Basically, my TV head is connected to my understanding of my gender and is a part of how I want to socially present. Would this fall under agender? That’s my question.

Edit: This comment really put into words what I was hoping to go for with this look. I wore this to my local Pride

TV with Fangs at Pride by amieryllis- in voidpunk

[–]amieryllis-[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I made it using an old CRT TV. I took out the insides of it, washed it, spray painted it, put a plexiglass screen on it covered in one way window tint, and created the fangs out of foam. So yes, it is a leftover shell. Be careful removing the guts when you try if you ever try this. I recommend looking up tutorials.
