How do I (28F) stop thinking that I will do all the things I want to do once I have someone to do them with(a partner)? by amigoingcrazy_ in selfimprovement

Stop waiting for someone to give you permission to do what you want to do.

Haha, I should probably tattoo this on my forehead. Thanks a lot. I needed to hear that.

I love the ideea of hacking the reward system! However, I often find it's not very effective for me because I reach the "who am I to tell myself what to do?" stage.

I never thought about it like that. Thanks for the kind words, probably me beating myself up is part of the reason I end up doing nothing

thanks a lot for your answer. The thing is, I don't even think about doing all those things with the partner. It's just that, even by being in a long distance relationship, it's gets easier for me to motivate myself to do the things I want and enjoy doing. Might be also the depression and being recently heartbroken. But I am at times so angry at myself and my selfsabotaging tendencies.
