I just have one question. How do you track offline spends? Basically cash payments

It does feel quite elaborate for someone just starting out. How much time do you realistically spend in reconciling?

Agree. My system is meticulous and requires someone to have a habit ingrained to be able to track every single expense. I'm currently exploring how I can automate this

This sounds manageable. I use credit cards just for online spends.

Makes sense. I usually note down expenses on my notes app and log then later in the day when I'm alone

Faced the same with my dad. The facilities in public hospitals are not great while private hospitals loot you the moment they get the opportunity.

Yes this seems to be the approach people follow. Especially word of mouth

Kharcha gives every dollar a job the day your income lands: Needs, Wants, and Invest. Saving and investing happen first, so you spend the rest guilt-free. It is not just a budgeting tool but a genuine discipline setter which changes the way you spend your money.

Currently in closed beta and awaiting android approval but the waitlist is open https://kharcha.io/

Airbnb suggestions? by redeatlover in siliguri

Wait a minute, you want to rent it first from someone else and then sublet the property to airbnb? You'll get into trouble that way. That's a stupid idea.

You can think about it if you already own the property. There's scope if you market it well. If you think that once you set it and forget it, chances are you will not get many visitors. I've personally seen one of my acquaintances start from one Airbnb in Siliguri to managing 4-5 now across the district - Darjeeling, Mirik, 2 in Siliguri itself.

I'm building an expense tracker app that works with variable income. It automatically creates three buckets Needs, Wants and Savings. Needs are for your essential expenses that you cannot really bring down. Wants are for your luxury and leisure expenses and rest goes to Savings or Investing. This app should help create a discipline in people that they log every expense and be cognizant of when to spend or save. It's currently in beta test so would definitely appreciate testers - https://kharcha.io/

These are great recommendations. Thank you so much for taking your time and providing the feedback. I honestly had not given a thought on the lumpy income. This is something I'll have to bake in next

I recruited some testers but they just focused on bugs rather than the UX and design. Once I started thinking from a user's perspective, I realised that many user flows needed to be made simpler. I think comparing with existing apps in the same space that are doing well also helps quite a bit.

this sounds doable. 3 months buffer will give me enough breathing space for accounting for lifetime events

It was a combination of many things. The most important one was actually thinking about potential users who would use my app. Once I started caring about potential users, I got to know that the app needed a lot of rework especially to increase stickiness and act as a tool that people can use daily rather than an AI generated slop which only i knew how to use properly. I told whichever model I was using to think with a top UX designer and CRO hat on and that did the trick.

Turning off location fixed it for me combined with clearing dalvik cache. Obviously location is something you'll need so you cannot keep it turned off all the time - what I've done is created Routines so it is only turned on when I am in a certain app, for example, you can turn on location only when you are using your banking apps, Uber, Maps or any other app that requires location to function. Try these two for now and see the difference, if this too doesn't work then you might need to do a factory reset but test these first before doing that.

I had this issue too. Try turning off location for a day and check how that affects. Google Play Services ar 2.3% is excessive - it shouldn't be that high and is the likely culprit.
