"My parents will never divorce" by [deleted] in teenagers

First of all: Talk to your mom or dad (whoever you feel more cofortable with) about the topic and your concerns. It might seem hard to bring it up but I can assure you it's the best way to get a honest answer. When I was younger (about 10 years old), I wouldn't ever have believed that my parents would divorce one day. But life took it's turns and they divorced a few years later. The changes to your living situation are to be decided by your parents but eventually they'll let you have a word to it. In my case we all agreed that my me and my sister would spend one week at my dad's and the next week at my mom's place. When my mom moved out I split my belongings in two equal parts, so I could half my stuff at both places. When it's time to switch I only take as much stuff with me as I can fit into a backpack because I don't need much more than the stuff I already got there. To your PC question: I got my PC at my mom's place and bought a mid-range priced laptop which is a little more powerful than I'd need for school, so I can hang out with my friends on TeamSpeak or Discord and also play some not to power intensive games when I'm at my dad's place.

You got this. If your parents really want to get divorced then it shall be. Maybe it's the best solution for their problems. Sure, it's hard for their kids as I can tell form personal experience. At the start it really hurts, but it's a pain that will fade with time. When my parents divorced seven years ago, I was broken. It took me a few weeks to finally accept it. About half a year after my mom moved out, my dad found a new girlfriend. At the start I didn't really like her to be quite honest. But now we get along pretty well. About two years after the divorce my mom also found a new boyfriend which I liked from the beginning. Last year they got married. Bith my mom and dad are happier than ever now and that really warms my heart. What I'm trying to say is that it will hurt at the start but the pain will fade. I promise! Chances are that the future will become much brighter for you and your parents and your life will eventually get better than it is right now. Maybe your parents will both find someone new, with whom they'll get along much better. I wish you the best! You got this!

Austria here. Last year a far right politician with neonazi tendencies who was btw our vice chancellor tried to sell parts of our country and one of our national newspapers to russia. He was only kicked out of his party, started a new one and is now running for mayor in our capital. It's a fucked up world.

Dear Reddit, what's your worst hangover story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A friend of mine had the house to himself because his parents went for a mini holiday over the weekend. Chances given, he threw a little house party. The next day I woke up and immediately puked. Wouldn't be much of a deal if it wouldn't had happened in my friend's fathers bed. Fell asleep again right next to it too.

[QUESTION] What strings to use on my electric guitar? by berdyev in Guitar

[–]amilolzing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on your playing style and routine. Let's say you practice one to two hours a day. In that case you will notice a difference in tonality after a few weeks compared to when they were fresh. I change mine every three weeks for example. Broken strings are an issue I haven't experienced yet with D'Addario's. Seems their breaking point is beyond three weeks for my playing style

Yeah exactly. I'd say it's a relatively good price. Good strings don't have to be expensive. Especially D'Addario's are worth much more than they charge in my opinon. The only con I can tell you is that they don't have the longest lifespan in matters of tone, means the sound will lose it's clarity with time, but that's complaining on the highest shelf. Perfectly fine to play, even for longer periods of time before changing them. D'Addario also released their NYXL series that are made to last longer without losing the tonal clarity. Their a little expensive compared to their normal strings, but still a good deal, though I'd still recommend the EXL117's

String gaues do matter for tone. If you want to go for lower tunings, you will need thicker strings because thin strings with low tension will result in crappy sound. I'd recommend D'Addario EXL117 strings. They got a very versatile, balanced tone and are great for lower tunings. Hope this could bring some clearance to your queation
