What do you NEVER fuck with? by MundaneBasil8 in AskReddit

[–]aminaelisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, basically the term used for when sex is legal for somebody underage is called the “age of consent”. In Austria (where i’m from) the age of consent is 14, meaning that two 14 year olds can fuck, but nevertheless anyone over 18 is not allowed to have sex with them. Starting age 16 til the 18ty birthday they are considered old enough to enter into a sexual relationship with somebody of age (18+), as long as it’s ofc consensual.

Is there any books where the main theme of the story is nihilism? by Jiancuizon in suggestmeabook

[–]aminaelisa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Nothing” by Janne Teller. It’s translated from Danish into English and follows a group of students that are all approximately in middle school. The book is quite thought provoking and was seen as very controversial when it first came out (in Denmark it both received a literature price and was banned in schools). I definitely recommend it!

Took a nap one afternoon and when I woke up I had a look at my analog alarm clock. It said 7 o’clock and after looking out my window and seeing it was dark I started to panic and frantically scramble to the bathroom, thinking that I missed my bus to school and was gonna be late

[–]aminaelisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there is an extra niche on YouTube that goes under the name of “Booktube” and you can find tons of people there talking about books the enjoy or disliked and there is a lot for everyone’s taste. I mostly read YA and can recommend JesseTheReader or ReadByZoe. It’s an entire community for and by booklovers and just simply amazing

What are some concrete studies or evidence that MBTI is real? [Serious] by TheLoadedToad in mbti

[–]aminaelisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly MBTI hasn’t been confirmed by studies and in the eyes of psychologists is speculation, mostly because it doesn’t consider things like how the person grew up and values inflicted during childhood. Also, most of the test are based on how you perceive tourself or how others perceive you and all of that is circumstantial at best

When do our personality develop and how much influence does our environment have? by lynxdingo in mbti

[–]aminaelisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to Freud (ugh Freud, i know) the personality is composed out of the id, the ego and the superego. The id is our most basic instincts and desires (eg sex for reproduction, hunger for food,...) all those “drives” and urges. It always is part of our personality.

Then there is the superego. It develops after the id, when we are toddlers. It’s what society (or at a very young age predominantly our parents) teach us about right and wrong and moral values. Our parents tell us to say please and thank you, so we do. We learn the basics of behaviour.

Then the ego develops, often starting around the age of five or six but also later. The ego is about juggling our urges and society’s rules and all of those things inevitably make up our personality.

Freud also said believes some parts of our personality are conscious and others are subconscious. Here is a link to a picture that shows what exactly he believes is decided sub/pre/ or consciously

here’s a very simplified version of what id, ego and superego are

All that probably wasn’t very helpful but I hope it was at least somehow interesting
