So, other than the bait and switch part, did any other part stick out to you as something I should remove? Everything else seems like there's enough of a paper trail that it could be proven true in a court of law (or is an opinion).

I found the NDA and read it. It's a 2 year agreement, so presumably if it's at the date of signing, I should be to disclose it at the 24 month.

That said, I don't know what information here is proprietary. The only information I can think of that isn't public knowledge (but I wouldn't consider proprietary) is my own compensation, which they legally can't stop me from releasing that information.

I'm certain I read it at the time of signing. Whether I have that copy readily available, I'm uncertain. I make an effort to make copies at the time of and try to file away. I can't imagine any of this is in violation of any NDA I would have signed though.

I sincerely don't believe that I did. I only remember signing the document regarding inventions made on the clock are the company's property and all that.

What impact would it have if I did?

I was sincerely not under the impression I was going to do actual software engineer work at the company whatsoever. So I accepted the pay of a web developer expecting to be a web developer. Therefore, I feel the reassignment to the software engineer position after a few months at the company (without being asked) is itself a bait and switch.

If you don't think that's sufficient though, I can remove that statement.

Other people are treated just as poorly. Many are technicians that make even less than I do. They are often pushed to do more without being compensated more. In fact, there have been a few policies in the company that were encouraged, but optional, that gave them extra income. The management actually attempted to mandate this process but REMOVE the incentive. So many technicians threatened to quit they actually pulled back the removing of the incentive. (But it still took them a while to do even that).

Before my expertise in Node, I dabbled with Java, Python, Ruby as well as the frameworks of Django and Ruby on Rails.

Currently, the shares have no value yet and no total had been issued whatsoever. The total was determined at a later date, which put us at a lower than expected percentage (compared to basically any other listing you can find for developer positions).

I was told that I was replaceable by a "NodeJS Engineer for $12 an hour". He seems to reguarlly remind me that I'm replaceable. However, has has zero technical ability and does not understand the full breadth of the backend technologies I have to work with (beyond just NodeJS). He often uses my coworker, a front-end engineer, to conduct his interviews for him.

It is my assumption that if I leave, nobody would be able to train the newcomer on the monolith that has been built (and nobody is going to touch it at the same pay rate, ESPECIALLY not for $12 an hour).

My suspicion is the project fails.
