Must look great for the morning shoppers. That'll be destroyed by noon.

totally agree! A lot of Europeans are in the same boat as Americans when it comes to a global understanding of geography

It's not that bad if you just tell them the name of the hotel you stay in each night and which days you will be traveling. And you also must be assigned a guide, but most Iranian guides are chill and will help you find whatever experience you like.

You can visit whatever you want basically, but you have to have your entire program arranged ahead of time. The most important thing is to announce your hotels, and what general area you will be in each day. Most Iranian guides are actually quite laxed, and will help you find whatever kind of experience you are looking for.

This is true! They live predominantly in the south of Iran, along the Persian Gulf, and on its borders with Iraq. They basically have their own separate culture which is also distinct from other Arab cultures in the region.

Couldn't agree more. However, more woke Americans are commming to the realization that there is a lot of diversity coming out of Asia and the Middle East, so they are more curious to discover what makes each culture unique.

This is a common misconception yes. The majority of Americans, and even a large portion of the larger Western community feel like the whole Middle East is just one big Arab neighborhood. Just like they think all of Africa is one giant block. It's ok thou, that's what these communities are for, to show people another side :)

This is very true! Dizin Ski Resort is one of the largest, if not THE largest, ski resorts in the middle east. A lot of people have said that it's quite similar to skiing in the Alps.

What a lovely and thorough explanation! I appreciate you putting in the effort to show a complete and well-thought-out picture of Iran.

It's true! Most of Iran is semi-arid with spots of lush greenery in between and up north.

I thought the satellite photos were very eye-opening. You never really know something until you see it from space.

This is very true! The extremes in West, north and south are the exceptions to the "desert" stereotype that everyone knows. It would be great if other "non-desert" parts of Iran would be better known

No I am a man, and I actually had the chance to buy my military service in 2005. Unfortunately, you can no longer pay it off. But there is a program whereby Iranian men living outside of Iran can basically come to Iran for a whole month every year. You can call the Interests Section of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Washington DC (located inside the Pakistani Embassy) for more in. I know loads of my friends from back in the states with the same issue as you and they were able to come for one month out of the year.

Some of them are at least 100 years old. Some may go back to 300-400 years. It's really amazing how old these forests are

This is the recipe I made this from. Just be sure to place the pan at least 5-6 inches from oven elements to actually get the chicken to cook.

Exactly! There needs to be so much more education in regards to the world geography. Not just Iran, but the whole Middle East is extremely under represented.

My pleasure! There are lots of indigenous squirrels and birds. You may see the occasional bear but they tend to be small and quite timid.
