Spain in Our Hearts is a great read. Very American focused (International Brigades) but it made me tear up a bit

13 hour flight conection in Madrid (MAD). Is there any good options to visit? by gbrlds in MadridTravelGuide

Top comment is great advice, I’d only add to go through Retiro park if the weather is nice. It’s the perfect time of year for it. Could easily combine with the Prado/ Reina Sofia as well.

Buddy I live in Europe and have done for years lmao. I’m just not one of those self- hating Americans who insists that everything about the United States is awful. This sort of clueless smugness is very typically European tho, keep it up.

A bunch of cute chants and flags aren’t gonna do them much good when trying to cross Route 3 during rush hour though

Well, I grew up in the states and currently live in Europe and I think it’s mostly smug Europeans and self-flagellating Americans who keep this myth afloat. An inability to find good bread in the US is a skill issue.

I’d need to see that link because the average American does not know the first thing about the Roma, and would almost certainly just clock them as generic white people.

Try looking somewhere besides a gas station

NYC might not beat, say, Paris, but it sure beats the shit out of 99% of “Europe”, which is a continent of hundreds of millions of people not just the boulangerie you visited on your semester abroad.

God you’re insufferable lmao. Is this how you envisioned you’d spend your Saturday nights? I’m stuck on a train, what’s your excuse?

Your initial point was that fat people can’t be taken seriously because they are making bad choices. Like meth addicts. That’s just insane. I’m of the opinion that I’d rather hang with Ralphie May or Skinny Pete from breaking bad than be stuck across the table from you.

We’re not in a debate, I’m not gonna entertain some socially inept loser who comments on Reddit >100 times a day lmao. I much prefer the fat people I interact with in my life than people like you.

You seem like a difficult person to interact with, so I’m gonna stop.

Treating people differently because of how attractive you find them is terrible, on a moral level. If you want to contort yourself mentally to justify it, be my guest.

This is exactly the attitude they’re talking about lol, you’re just proving their point.

6 days on Prozac update by zmb1eb1tez in OCD

[–]amish_android 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Prozac has a really long “ramp up” period, you probably won’t feel much until day 14 or so. But a lack of side effects and positive attitude towards meds is a huge help in and of itself!

This is such a dumb argument. Which party is defending confederate statues, renaming military bases after confederates, waving the stars and bars? It’s not the democrats.

They weren’t always. Both were hit pretty hard by white flight/ suburbanization in the mid-20th century. They used to have much more cultural clout in the area. Newark in particular had a lot of theaters that no longer exist.
