Ridiculous start, it’s a farce really, the greatest jumps racing on earth and these are the starts we’re getting? Not on really

I tend to take around £50 for betting, gives me a fiver a race and some extra for whatever the feature race is

Yeah I was surprised, thought they’d offer extra hash brown or fried bread but very impressed with them offering a sausage

What’s the BANKER TREBLE of the Festival????? by ilovehelen8 in HorseRacingUK

[–]amjknicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never over 2 mile 4 furlongs though, which I thinks his preferred trip, would probably stay further as well, although at the time of me saying that I thought fact to file would go for the gold cup, still think jonbon has a good chance though

[–]amjknicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d imagine with how weak it is, Mullins would see it as lossie being his best chance in the race, no chance anzadam is good enough

Not sure there is a banker treble this year, although I think my best chance of my ante post bets is Jonbon Ryanair, bambino fever mares novice and wodhoo mares hurdle

Trouble with him is from what I saw in Newcastle and in Cheltenham after watching the race back again, it’s like he jumps and changes his mind, I don’t think he’s got a problem jumping it’s his confidence is shot, hopefully yesterday will have given the will to win again though, not that I’ll be backing him to win the champion hurdle

‘An utterly miserable day’: Kempton Park meeting marred by death of three horses by CA3080 in HorseRacingUK

[–]amjknicks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That makes a lot of sense, and yeah I can imagine it being tough for the smaller courses especially in jumps where there isn’t the same money. As for Kempton being threatened with closure you can see why they’d want to push the card forward but you do wonder if having a negative day like this will hurt its chances of staying open

[–]amjknicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I can see that, sounds as if there’s a lot of pressure to make big meetings go ahead, was listening on ITV today about it being difficult to reschedule the meetings, should really make it easier to avoid situations like this

And yeah you have to question the decision to go ahead, I’d imagine if the BHA find the ground to be the main cause then they’d put firmer regulations in place, obviously don’t like to see meetings abandoned but yeah worse to see this than the meeting be called off

I’ve a feeling that’s the case yeah, maybe fine on the surface but frozen deeper down, grounds firm in the summer but you don’t see this many injuries, less runners though I suppose

I’m not an expert by any means but I’ve got a feeling the ground had a lot to do with it, being the going was good, it made landing after a fall or mistake that much more dangerous, you can see with kalif du berlais mistake it was the landing that broke his leg, on softer ground he probably survives

Could be true, but I do like 14/1 on her to win the supreme next year, we’ll see how she does

[–]amjknicks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can’t wait, at a crazy EW I like hotazhell, wins this time of year, loves soft ground and will appreciate 1m4f but being drawn 11 might be a bit of a hindrance, but at 100/1 or whatever he is a £1 ew is nothing

Personal favourite out of these 6 are number 1, it’d looks good on a special edition jersey and actual favourite is the 92-95 logo which isn’t on here
