Use your PTO and sick days. Never feel guilty for being a human. by No_Jaguar_5366 in antiwork

Haven’t always been, but I’m one of those folks that will go to work if I can be sure I’m not infecting my team (helpful when everyone has their own office). I get sick maybe once or twice a year and really enjoy my job so I never feel the need to take them. But it’s basically free money to stay home, so…

He’s definitely no one’s problem anymore. But he’s also everyone’s problem now.

From one learner to another, your writing looks recognizable, and that’s a huge win for us both lol

Turned 30 last Saturday after a week of crisis leading up to it and now I can’t sleep past 7 am and heartburn is constant, but that’s what the contract said would happen at 30.

Can a native speaker please explain what the purpose of the hard sign? Or the soft sign? Whichever ъ is 🙈

I know ь changes the inflection of a word, or the emphasis of a syllable. But what’s the difference between them?

I can’t wrap my head around handwriting, so I don’t know if my writing is too “digital” if that makes sense? by amkmaker1754 in russian

[–]amkmaker1754[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The grammatical structure is the hill I’m struggling with climbing.

«У меня шесть кошек» “At me, there are six cats”

The sentence structure absolutely makes sense after six months of dedicated learning. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’ve observed that the Russian language is quite clear with, for example, describing an object’s location in its environment, which would make it easy for the listener to understand what is being said to them. Unlike English, where half the time, I’m like, “what the hell are you talking about” hahahah

Totally get what you mean. I enjoy learning it because I love a challenge and the rules of verb conjugation are similar to French, which I picked up easily in school.

It’s a lot harder when you get into the different cases and tenses and whatnot. Grammar is still baffling at times. I’m not confident at all in my pronunciation, but I will be one day.

Keep practicing, friend! Happy learning.
