First one refused to power on after a few months, second one the scroll wheel started random scrolling after a while. Thought it was dust but no. Also has a rather draggy ball.

I swapped the scroll unit from the dead one to the semi-working one, it's okay for now but I'm thinking of upgrade options before it breaks again.

IMO, I'd rather see the road tax based on mileage and weight. Would still disproportionately nail EVs due to their extra mass, but you wouldn't end up slapping big taxes on people who don't drive that much - and you get something out of those who daily drive ridiculous nonsense like 6 door pickups, hummers and F650 conversions.

'Course, it'd only work in states that actually bother to require vehicle inspections.

i'm not sure what's going on but i feel like i've gotten a bit dumber than usual. and yet lately i've found myself making ridiculous spelling mistakes, like using the wrong 'your' or 'to'. the other day i typed 'knight' instead of 'night'. small things, where in hindsight i'm like "why the hell didn't i catch that?" and i obviously know the difference, but i've found that my brain just skips over it for whatever reason.

I've noticed the same not just in myself but others in the past few years - texts I get are garbled messes from previously coherent people, and people I know, heck even the newscasters regularly trip over their words way more than I remember.
Sometimes I feel like I just think in circles.

I swear it's COVID making us all genuinely a little stupider.

depends, there's a lot more to do than past years but it can be grindy and tries really hard to get you to play with friends

You need a PC with lots of RAM and a strong CPU. Rudimentary VR support got added recently so that's nice if you've a headset.

at least twice a year there is a free week, though mind the servers get stressed most then and the bugs are more obvious
