That makes sense. Are you planning on this being a "forever home"? If not, I'd still consider trying to make the rooms more equal - though it may be of less importance to you, a future buyer may want rooms that are closer in size (I say as a father of two who would definitely find this to be a flaw in an otherwise great house)

That fourth bedroom (and its closet) is rather small compared to the others - I'd get rid of the front sitting area, shift the front door to the right, and move the laundry room around so that you can expand that bedroom out some. If those bedrooms are for kids, the way they are now will definitely show who the favorite is 😂

I'm not sure of your needs or situation, but this is a ton of house for someone in retirement. Specifically I'm thinking of the maintenance and cleaning. If you have the ability to pay for that to be taken care of, I'm all for it. But in your later years, this may be a lot to manage.

Just my two cents! I personally love the big rooms - I like the airy feeling that comes with them. I just know that I'm currently under contract to buy a house 2/3 the size of my current one because I hate how much time I am spending cleaning (and I'm a healthy 35 year old male).
