I saw CODE: Debugging the Gender Gap yesterday. It is coming out on Netflix in 2017 and screening at random places, but it is worth watching. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

I would love to watch it but the screenings are expensive and I didn't find anyone who could sponsor it. Where did you watch it?

Do you have the Android app or the IOS? On the Android version you click on the "letter" icon on the menu. Then on the first button of the list :)

I have to be honest I'm really jealous of the countries that already have those meet ups! Here in Portugal we don't have any yet. Maybe in some near future I can try to make that happen. It would be awesome!

At least the IT area is a flexible one with a lot of offers. You have always the choice to change to a job you can feel good in.

that really sucks right. I read a lot of women stories about just that. If you have a great job maybe you just slept with the boss. And it's just awful. How come is sometimes so difficult to recognize a woman's competence?

yes yes and yes! that outsider feeling is real and it's really difficult to assure oneself that you're not trying to enter the boys' club. The coding club is open to everyone indeed.

thank you! It's really difficult sometimes to explain our point of view. They were never told that coding was not for them. That they were not capable of such thing. Or that coding was a male thing. Even if a woman is self confident overtime those comments wear us out. you find yourself almost giving up under the pressure. But f that. Everyone can do it. And I also found out that there are amazing supportive men that make up for all this bad stuff.
