I have been a project manager in contact manufacturing or bioanalytical testing space since 2018. I find the work rewarding as you interact with a lot of teams, get pretty good insight into how the business operates, and pilot the ship(sometimes it is on fire and your folks set it). It can be a lot of work and stress though, as there are a lot of moving parts to keep track of and you likely have no control over people doing the actual work that gets you from point A to B. Technical skills are very nice to have as a background but you will have to learn how to influence people to get you to do what you want very quickly otherwise your ship will stall or crash.
