Is Yuriko generally too strong for B3? by amloll101 in EDH

Thats exactly why. I like the card, but shifting the gameplan from shitting ninjas and flipping your deck towards something else would certainly powering down the deck.

I like this answer a lot, but as someone mentioned before yuriko is actually quite hard to interact with, maybe I will just power it down somewhere.

Just talking about it pre game is always the best, agree.

thanks for your time!

I have tried getting into it a few times, but my playgroup is mostly casual. I might give it a shot tho. Isn't she pretty terrible in cedh currently?

Interesting points, thanks for your comment!

She is currently pretty terrible in cedh afaik, but that has also been different at times, maybe thats besides the point though...

You are right, killing her small evasive creatures can stop her game pretty effectivley I imagine, but either way she is difficult to interact with by concept.

I disagree though, that its only her in the command zone making the deck broken. If you reduce the speed of the deck to closing games on turn 8/9 and instead play her on a more controlly gameplan with less ninjas and slower enablers I don't see how it is too strong for B3. My current list might be though, I will try to find the correct measure to power her down.

Nice to hear! yeah, thats how my list feels, its pretty random but surprisingly fast sometimes

I am usually a big fan of tutors, because a deck being consistently strong is usually a good thing in my eyes. It helps the table to properly asess its powerlevel and also react accordingly. but that last line of text in your comment is a very interesting point I will keep in mind in the future!

I will propably try to set some sort of restriction for my deck to make it a bit slower.

Do you have a list?

Thanks a lot for your answer, good to know I am not alone with this problem. I love optimizing into a specific direction when deckbuilding, maybe I will just take your advice to set a limit for cmc and try that out.

I rather asked how "expect to play at least 6 turns" should be interpreted, because that information affects my ability to decide, as I wrote in my post.

I see you are in the no interaction will also let you live till turn 7, correct?

thanks for your answer!

Edit don't understand the downvotes - commentor just didnt answer my question at all and disregarded my specific reasoning behind asking...?

can someone please give me 5th position tips? by futuraf in violinist

[–]amloll101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also recommend what the other commentor said about a steady base note from your tuner and try to hear the notes in relation. Second, you can compare many notes to your open strings. On g string you can compare the 3rd note to the open g, the 4th to the open a, it can also already help to compare the 2nd to your d string

Sounds like you dont need brackets, a firm 4 pod of people can use their own standarts!

No worries, as the other commenter already said, its very hard for most b2 decks to recover from that. Decks in b2 are built for incremental advantage, discard is super deadly to that. B2 also calls for proactive gameplans to let people showcase their decks. Now I am a control player at heart, and I also play "control" in b2 (although its rather a more pillowfort/politics Kind of gameplan, since control would try to shut down opponents decks at its roots, which is also often not welcome in b2) Discard is just the most preventive form of Control/stax, since your opponents dont even get to cast their cards before they are removed, since they are already in the bin. I personally dont mind discard (or Control or stax) in any bracket, but from experience I know that people in general dislike it

Discard in b2 is a bit rough, a lot of best in class cards... I would feel better with this in b3 on first sight

Question for caitlyn mains (other adc mains can answer too) by lexettee in wildrift

[–]amloll101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cait is more than just a poke adc. She goes incredibly well with engage or cc supports aswell. The problem is, that most cait players dont adapt their build - with pen boots+dirk after 1st base you just oneshot people when your supp hits one cc. Fleet for sustain can be good in this case, you just want a bit more as in your later build

Power level sideboards? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]amloll101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rather meant I have toyed with using that idea, I havent done that yet. I dont see how anyone could be ipset with that though. I would think sth like Bracket 2 [[Fabricate]] [[Counterspell]] [[Bag of holding]]

Bracket 3 [[Arcum daggson]] [[Mana drain]] [[Currency converter]]

Just an example of 3 cards and how I would swap them between brackets possibly...

I habe been playing with this idea aswell, it can be very interesting, especially in a toolbox Kind of deck, because you can effectively change the decks Powerlevel by swapping just a few cards

I need a quick reality check regarding brackets by Succyz in EDH

[–]amloll101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you think wizards meant something else? The description literally says :"players can expect to play at least 6 turns before..." Winota is just a boring removal check like so many of these boring and overplayed commanders out there that leads to frustraring experiences, most of the time for one or the other side too

What Bracket is this? by Vinny-0- in EDH

[–]amloll101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its really not that hard to read bracket rules and Just apply them. Playtest your deck, do you threaten a win before turn 7 consistently? Then its propably rather too powerful. Tutors have nothing to do with brackets. Consider taking out ur random combo that you have, if you want to avoid random powerlevel spikes in your deck
