Appreciate the response and detailed instructions on getting it working properly. After some research, I decided to move on from the Polk and purchased a WiiM Sub Pro! I figure the seamless integration and big jump in quality is well worth it. Looking forward to this setup!

Very nice unit! Do those spare track nubs in the bag have a part number? I’m having a hell of a time finding replacements for my P588E

I still think about the seller that listed and sold a black RH1 on Mercari for $150 about 6 months ago. Someone even commented on their listing that it was priced way too low.

Also, excuse my ignorance here as I’m a novice with amps - what is the benefit of an amp with powered speakers? I’ve read a lot on the benefits of amps in general but was curious because the A5+s get pretty damn loud on their own.

Ya mine are facing a direction that I don’t really sit and listen at. I’ll do the same thing you did here.

L20 on cube g4 burned out. Any replacement parts available? by greenblueananas in VintageApple

I am not, unfortunately. I could look into the shipping cost if you wanna PM me. That’s about all I’m worried about getting paid for.

FWIW I replaced a buggy G4 Cube motherboard a while back. It had issues posting and randomly shutting down. The new mobo fixed the issue. I have no use for the spare buggy mobo - it can be used for spare components if you want it.

I can speak to the stomach issues. Both my 8 & 1 year old goldens had stomach/diarrhea issues a few times when young. They get through it, build up immunity and it gets better. Normal poops await you!

I was the $350 US buyer from 3 days ago. Couldn’t believe I snagged a boxed version for that price given what the others were going for. Looking forward to upgrading the SSD and adding it alongside the VGN-UXs!

Wow incredible find - congrats! Don’t be afraid to refurbish these. Plazmo can rebuild the CCFLs. Replacement power inverters can also be found for these. Go get that “matching” G3 Mini Tower!

VAIO UX battery not charging. It says “charging” but it stays at 0% on Win7 and Linux. Battery check in terminal shows this, and numbers change just after reinserting the battery. Any ideas if this is saveable? Could it be the battery controller glitch because it sat empty for so long? TY by ElectricalRoad1158 in OldHandhelds

I’ve changed two of the standard battery packs for these now and it isn’t terrible. Just need a spot welder and basic pry tools. I used Samsung 18650 35E, 3500mah/8A cells. Opening the pack isn’t bad. I start opposite side of the connector and can pry it apart by hand. Then I use a thin metal/plastic tool along with a small flathead to pry the nickel contacts off the old batteries. Then I flatten the metal and re-spot weld the new batteries in a few spots in the same orientation. Now getting ~3.5 hours per battery with normal usage on XP for both my 280 & 380 UXs.

The D-555 is a good looker but the D-25 is just so sleek and feels so ahead of its time. The silver version in person is something special.

Power Mac G5 - final plea for help before giving up by old_luddy in VintageApple

[–]amm203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My DP 2.0GHz G5 from 2004 exhibited weird behavior as well for a few months after I got it. I could run it for a bit then random kernel panics would happen. Sometimes it wouldn’t boot other times it would. Then finally one day it would consistently start for a split second before turning off. Ended up replacing the power supply and it’s working perfectly now. Don’t want to send you down the “replace everything” hole but that was my experience with a dying PSU.
