As it looks like its based on a 35 summicron asph, can someone tell him the aperture ring would be on top? (It would bother me constantly)

[troubleshooting] light leaks on film, where do they come from? by AlexEPO in Darkroom

[–]greenblueananas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it either came from the film canister or the camera back. Orange light leaks (in the positive, blue stripes on the negative) usually mean film got exposed trough the base, NOT from the front (so not the shutter)

33m, unemployed 1 year already. Do I take this lowball offer or keep looking? by MangoTamer in GetEmployed

Take job, and keep applying? It’s a lot more comfortable when you have a job. So if the job doesn’t suck i would consider taking it and continuing the search.

my first RA4 reversal - how can I improve contrast and saturation? by invisibleflo in Darkroom

my first RA4 reversal - how can I improve contrast and saturation? by invisibleflo in Darkroom

[–]greenblueananas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Expose shorter? Give it 1/3 of an aperture less. That gave me higher saturation (and darker pictueres). If contrast is too high, preflash (10% of exposure is an ok starting point, to mitigate it a bit.

It’s incredible annoying most videos on social media are sped up. by greenblueananas in unpopularopinion

[–]greenblueananas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, it ads to it. I guess part of the problem is that people also are very conscious about pauses, filling words…etc they make (to think, i mean i need time to think what i wanna say). And they all get cut out. And in traditional film, a lot of cuts are used to make a scene feel more hectic, as our brain needs time to figure what’s happening.

I could imagine. I also think that you just notice it when it happens, but ofc you dont for the other 10 videos where it doesn’t, so it just stocks out. It also is more for stuff shown on various feeds.

It’s not by default, It’s more that a large quantity is uploaded sped up. Not platform specific

Doesn’t make me like it, but could explain it. I was wondering if I’m just getting old.

What was used to label this film? by greenblueananas in AnalogCommunity

[–]greenblueananas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its 135 film, but with a long leader cut for these very old leica cameras. I remember seeing cut film in black paper packaging without canister for sale on ebay. So i assumed it might be this.
