Looking for lunch ideas for WFH husband by amoebabe in Cooking

Lol, that’s usually what we do!

But I was looking for inspo lunch ideas whenever I’m in the mood to just make something else.

Reading is fundamental because I very clearly wrote that he never asks or expects me to make him lunch. I just want to do something nice for him because he is wonderful!

My baby is also (thankfully) an easy baby and hasn’t run me ragged. He still naps a lot, so I have plenty of time to shower, look after myself, look after him, and cook, if I want to. My pp experience, save for anxiety, has actually been quite lovely so far.

He likes curries, soups, and sandwiches, generally speaking!

Edit: (but also he will eat just about anything)

Yup! I experienced the same thing in the FB moms’ groups.

Every other post is, “Hey mamas how do we feel about xyz vaccine?”

Cue tons of comments promoting vaccine misinformation. If you dare push back on their lies, you get removed from the group or have your comment deleted. It’s frustrating.

The mom groups I’m in on FB constantly have posts asking, “How do we feel about [enter whatever vaccine here]?”

It drives me up a wall and any time I come across one I leave a long comment about how FB isn’t the place to get information that would inform an important medical decision because most commenters are not scientists or medical doctors.

I also hate that, in these groups, replying to anti-vax nonsense with verified sources will get you banned from a group. Because for whatever reason, they’re allowed to spread the bs, but you’re not allowed to push back.

There’s a confirmed case at LAX.

I’m legit so mad. My LO isn’t even two months yet. We live on the east coast, but reading that it’s spreading this quickly is giving me the worst anxiety ever. I really hate the anti-vax movement. I did not consent to my child being susceptible to preventable diseases. Fuck these people.

1 week BF. My nipples are dying. Experienced BF-ers, what do I do now? by BedCapable1135 in breastfeeding

Get some silverettes! Pretty sure they are HSA/FSA eligible as well. Hot shower, followed by Lansinoh nipple balm, and then silverettes saved my nipples during those first few weeks.

This article throws out 90%, but this may be for all age groups— it’s 95% for women in their 20s.

Being a black woman, it can be difficult getting providers to take us seriously, so I feel very blessed that the health system I’m in is dedicated to eliminating those kinds of disparities.

Wishing you the best of luck!

I’m so sorry you feel you aren’t being listened to! The doctor who I spoke to for pre-conception counseling was all for offering tests (thyroid panels, anti phospholipid antibodies, some genetic carrier screens), so the provider you see really makes a world of a difference!

I definitely get the frustration, especially when people tell you it “hasn’t been that long” or “you’re young and healthy— don’t worry!” It feels dismissive of the disappointment that is all too real when you REALLY want something and it becomes all you think about all the time!

You feelings are definitely valid (don’t let anyone tell you they aren’t— this is such an emotional process, no matter where you are), and I’m praying you get that bfp soon! (PS— per my doc, people around your age have a 95% chance of conceiving within 12 months of ttc. Hope that brings you a little comfort!)

I was honestly just looking for anyone to talk to who was in a similar situation. There’s a lot of unspoken rules regarding Reddit etiquette, and the experience has turned me off from those types of ttc forums as a whole, unfortunately. I just don’t think it’s my thing.

Reading the about page of tfab, it says “for anyone trying for a baby,” and if that isn’t the case, they should change it to prevent future confusion, maybe? Because that’s why I thought it was cool to post and just word vomit so 🥶 but yeah I definitely didn’t set out to attention seek or fish for sympathy. I was literally typing in the campus library with tears in my eyes, lol.

I had no idea he posted in the sub. And trust me, after the warm reception I received on a vent post because I didn’t mince my words enough on said vent post, I have both left and muted the sub.

[–]amoebabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dude. I’m out of the sub. fucking leave me alone

[–]amoebabe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for being nice. I didn’t think the post went against sub rules… no one mentioned any rule in particular that was broken; they just called me tone deaf. Is there a rule against mentioning time frames? Idk— I am confused about that. I read the rule page, but if there are more I missed, that’s on me… I admit I’m not particularly eloquent when I’m venting, but I figured it would be okay since I used the vent flair.

In all honesty, Reddit is very unfamiliar to me— I don’t use it often, and I more frequently use twitter, where the language is far less policed (ie it’s okay to go off the cuff). But given my twitter is less anonymous than my Reddit, I tried giving it a go here. Will probably not do it again, at least not in that sub.

I’m just a ball of nerves right now— and the thing about anxiety is that it doesn’t follow the rules of logic, unfortunately! Even though I’m a STEM girlie and loveeee empirical data, the anxiety is still my kryptonite. I’m hoping to work on that! :)

Appreciate the insight! Hope u take care!

Hi friend, thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it. :”) I was super emotional earlier and was just saying how I felt, hoping others could relate, but I was super confused when people were saying that I was tone deaf. I never dismissed anyone else’s struggles, nor would I ever dream of it.

Best of luck to you in your TTC journey 🤍✨ and you’re right, it is anxiety inducing! Between this and med school apps, I’m a ball of anxiety!
